You didnt get a second date because in order to get power liches, you need to have no spots availible for normal liches, and then you only get 66% of the troops you normally would. The twp big upsides to power liches over normal liches is that they do 2 more damage and have 1 more speed. Also 20 more health but thats not as big of an issue.
100 normal liches is 1100-1300 damage. 66 power liches is 726-990 damage.
