I am still shocked she was a serious contender and not just trolling.

She did it for a free trip to France. Troll no, dumb yes

Dumb like a fox. She got a free trip to France and made people dress up like her for Halloween.

even worse, she supposely threatens to sue people who use "her move" the kangaroo hop shit she did lol, also someone tried to make a parody play off her and she threatened to sue them

Don't forget...the proceeds from that play's ticket sales were to be donated to a womens' shelter. Raygun is more concerned about people having a laugh than she is about helping women in need

nice! im glad the girl who made the play is actually able to do it! wish i could watch the play myself lol, raygun is as dumb as rocks

I don’t know why people keep saying she did it for a free trip, her family is wealthy she could have got her own tickets. She has some sort of teaching degree related to dance and she regularly competed and was involved in the breakdancing scene long before it was introduced to the olympics. She clearly does have a love for the hobby but had obviously taken some liberties with the fundamentals. Yeah she was bad but at least she was funny and memorable. No one knows who even won that event. The only interesting thing that happened that whole olympics

Yep! She actually did more good for the sport than most people realize. Now, people feel encouraged to try the sport, knowing the bar to entry is so attainable.

Same with political office after 2016!

Yeah, you just need to be a son of a billionaire.

2

u/NeverEndingWhoreMe 15d ago

True. It helps if you're a real son of a b

1

u/Edelgul 15d ago

Yeah, with previous GOP president we learned that beeing a son of a president helps too

Except that Breaking has been cut from the Olympics now

1

u/Ilmirshan 15d ago

Each host country gets to have a few temporary events, it was never cut as it wasn't considered for permanent at the time.

1

u/unoriginalsin 15d ago

Honestly, it doesn't belong there.

2

u/ForbiddenButtStuff 14d ago

Why not? It's a highly physical activity that requires skill and experience. It's not much different from solo synchronized swimming or the gymnastics floor exercise.

1

u/unoriginalsin 14d ago

There's lots of highly physical activities that don't belong. Regardless of skill requirement. I just don't think breakdancing fits in the Olympic spirit.

Even the sports you mention in comparison already stretch the definition of a sport. What's next? Ballroom dancing? 1v1 needlepoint?

It's just my opinion, and I won't argue any further as it's not a really passionate one. I'm actually fine with the Olympics including many "sports" that I feel don't "belong". And I think many people feel the same way about sports I'd like to see get in.

2

u/ForbiddenButtStuff 14d ago

I wasn't looking to argue. You made the comment but said nothing else, so I was just curious of your reasoning behind why

2

u/unoriginalsin 14d ago

All good. I wasn't looking to argue either, I guess that's why I didn't expound.

Considering that other controversy at the Olympics, I prefer we remember and discuss this one.

5

u/Slappy-_-Boy 15d ago

Wait, what's the other controversy that happened?

11

u/Paperairplanes420 15d ago

The other controversy was Christians losing their shit over a depiction of the Feast of Dionysus. They thought it was a mockery of the last supper because they’re clueless about the rest of the world and they think everything is about them.

2

u/Slappy-_-Boy 15d ago

That's funny asf and about on par with ignorant ass people

1

u/spacemanspliff-42 15d ago

Okay, I am reminded there were too many. The one I had in mind was the "trans" boxer, but there were more.

1

u/Sugarbombs 15d ago

You’re so right, it’s very depressing that a literal child predator got less shit than a woman who danced funny. If you search that guys name all that comes up is really sympathetic articles about how hard it was for him and how much of a strong hero he was to push through, it’s sickening

1

u/spacemanspliff-42 15d ago

Shit, I forgot about that one. I was referring to the "trans" athlete in boxing was it? God everything is such a shit show now.

1

u/WrensthavAviovus 15d ago

Lies! The second place Uncle for the pistol competition was also memea... memorable.

5

u/Hot-Foundation3450 16d ago

This is pure copium. This is the equivalent of tripping and pretending that you just started to jog.

2

u/binomine 16d ago

She actually paid her own way there.
