I've still never watched her whole set and I feel like I probably should.

Update: i have returned after watching all 3 of her rounds. It was hilarious and delightful, and the fact that she's a 36 year old doctor was the cherry on top. It was bad, like, atrocious, but I could tell she was having fun and it brought me joy that she kept going and that the commenters did not know what to do with her. She should be treasured.

Ohhh, doctor as in PhD, not medical doctor — I was confused for a bit.

Yeah, her undergrad was in Throwdownosophy and Cyience, with her PhD in pure Breakology.

Her thesis actually was called Deterritorializing Gender in Sydney's Breakdancing Scene: A B-girl's Experience of B-boying.

this is why I can't take academia seriously as a whole

You didn't believe that did you? Lol

She has a PhD in Cultural Studies and a BA in Contemporary Music.

ok, to my defence... my comment was aimed to her thesis which seems to be real, so... I stand behind my words

With a thesis titled "Deterritorializing gender in Sydney's breakdancing scene: a B-girl's experience of B-boying"? Not sure this helps her case at all...

Most of academia has no connection to this nonsense and is very rigorous.

MD’s stole the term doctor from PHD’s.

Yep, there’s even doctorate in nursing, which is ridiculous as a title. They need to either designate non-medical doctorate degrees with a different term or designate medical doctorate degrees with a different term. Patients literally get confused all the time, and it’s to their detriment.
