I'd rather go back to that than what they have now.

You don't like the new hobo on drugs self service experience?

12

u/talldangry 11d ago

It's not fully self service, a mcdonald's team member still sits on all of the burgers to flatten them out.

And let’s not forget the soggy, grease-soaked buns—so suspect they make you wonder if the cook spat on them just for good measure. 👌

I went to a McDonald's several years ago and walked up to the cashier. She just ignored me for a minute, then stared at my then was like "the kiosk is right there". Because apparently even though she was being paid to take orders, I eat inconveniencing her by expecting her to take my order so are told me to go to the kiosk. I wanted a special order which is why I went to the counter.

McDonald is so expensive nowadays it's ridiculous and half the time my burger is completely smashed and something it missing or mixed up with another customer. It's become a joke, like many other fast food chain.

I miss that try not to get thrown off merry go round and that sizzle the skin off your legs metal slide lol

I dunno... Maybe I'm used to thinking about that kind of design, when I'm in a Mc, but I think that the actual look of the restaurant is better. It makes more modern

Feels cleaner, too.

15

u/BuildingArmor 11d ago

It is cleaner too, standards and expectations have improved

24

u/Scottz0rz 11d ago

The only standard I expect from McDonalds nowadays is to spend $20 on food that feels like it should be $5.

Bingo: fewer surfaces, easier for low wage workers to clean.

It’s more boring, but it’s way easier on the eyes. Those old designs were bright and loud, the picture doesn’t really do that justice

McDonald's is a kids restaurant. Kids don't like clean, modern designs. That's what adults like. Kids like shit for kids. Whimsical and gaudy with snot covered ball pits and dancing clowns with food shaped friends.

u/LazyBoyD 11d ago

Only it is not a kids restaurant any more.

33

u/Sheep03 11d ago

And it wasn't originally. The only difference is marketing.

17

u/_epzy 11d ago

the reason why they switched the design was because way more adults are getting mcdonalds than there use to be

6

u/OkDot9878 11d ago

Because nobody can afford to give their kids McDonald’s anymore.

not even true but okay lmao

I mean, in this economy, if you have even one child, you’re spending far more than most people in similar financial circumstances.

And even most average income people with no kids are heavily considering buying elsewhere when possible.

Someone with a kid is almost certainly going to consider another option before buying 3 separate meals and have it cost them like $40+

You can get a party pizza that would last several days for a family of 3 for like $20 at most places.

We're talking about kids getting McDonalds lmao. My gf and I can eat at McDonalds for $10 total and be totally satiated. They have so many deals and will literally just give you free food after eating enough there (3ish times). People can definitely afford to buy their kids McDonalds. My mother use to spend like $7.99 for a panda plate alone in the early 2000s when I was a kid

I don't even know why I have to argue this lmao I literally was at a McDonalds like two weeks ago, and the playplace was littered with children

Dude, a burger combo is like $18 after tax.

Yeah you can stock up on McDoubles for cheap, but no fries, no drink, and small burgers are your only option now for a cheap meal at McDonald’s.

Where the fuck do you live LMAO, definitely am not paying anywhere near that in Texas, and like I said, using the app for deals can get you way more food than you would even want for cheap. Literally having things like buy one big mac and get another for free lol. Do you eat like 4000 calories a day or something?

I loved mc donalds as a kid They even had a slide and a pool of balls.

3

u/timthetollman 11d ago

Almost as if they changed their brand so it's no longer a kids restaurant...

3

u/PepeSylvia11 11d ago

McDonald’s was a kids restaurant. FTFY

10

u/journey_mechanic 11d ago

Reaganomics made sure the kids grew up to continue eating at McDonald’s

1

u/GrandTie6 11d ago

Adults are the new kids. 18 and up is now the number one demographic for the toy industry,

-9

u/Salty818 11d ago

Let's not overdress it. It's not a restaurant. Never has been. Restaurants have crockery and cutlery and waiters.

8

u/Sureknow1 11d ago

Modern is why fries cost 4 dollar's

2

u/Ok_Cardiologist8232 11d ago

Except the decor isn't yellow by choice.

The Decor is that colour because anything white or pale gets stained by cigerette smoke.

Now is significantly better
