Post updates here for the Summer Spotify internship! Including position could be helpful to others.
I thought I read somewhere that they didn’t review applicants until after the submission deadline but I’ve heard some people have already received rejections :(
Good luck!!!!

Hey everyone!
I’m a software developer with over 7 years of experience. I’ve reviewed many resumes and mentored some people. I created recently a system to review resumes and make a report of how you should improve it.
I want to review the first 10 people that comment below. Hope it’s helpful for you guys.
Please add the role and industry

Hey guys! I wanted to make a thread for those who’ve applied to the NBCUniversal academic year internships. Feel free to comment what positions you applied to, if you’ve heard anything back, etc.
Good luck everyone!

So I’ve been on this subreddit for a while and have seen posts about this topic. I notice a lot of people saying they’ve applied to 50-100 internships and gotten offers (making 100 seem like alot, which I don't think it is). I see CS students typically applying to 500+ even before the whole AI craze and layoffs. So 100 almost seems low by comparison.
I’m asking because I’m a senior CS student graduating at the end of the year and have been struggling to get interviews until recently (have a few next week tho). I’m trying not to get my hopes up, though, and staying pessimistic so I don’t get too disappointed.
At this point, I’m thinking about applying to ANY internship. I even applied to a HR internship this morning, because at this point, why not.
Anyway, I’m curious. How many internships did you apply to, and what was your major? I need ideas for possible internships to branch out into lol.

I got an email from Sony today regarding next steps for my application- yippee!! In that email, they said that I should've gotten an email from Sparkhire to complete my video interview, but I haven't seen anything in my inbox and there's nothing in my spam. I emailed their team and I'm waiting for a response, but I was curious if anyone else who applied got the Sparkhire email
EDIT: I applied for Touring + Events and Creative for NYC!

I just accepted an offer for the summer that pays 32 an hour as a political science major. Is this a lot of money for a 20 year old student?

Has anyone heard back from CJ CheilJedang for their global internship? Or does anyone know how long the application process usually takes?

I need to be real for a second. I feel completely burnt out from trying to land a role — and I could really use some honest advice. For reference, I am a CS major...
Some context — about 8 weeks ago, I went all in on job apps. For two straight weeks I tracked every single one. Ended up applying to 82 internships, averaging 30 mins per app. That’s resume tailoring, writing cover letters, tweaking wording just to maybe get noticed.
Since then? A few rejections. But mostly just silence. Around 90% of my applications have been completely ghost.
What’s killing me isn’t even the time — it’s the mental toll of putting in all this effort and feeling like I’m getting nowhere.
What’s been getting to me:
I know I’m not the only one going through this, but damn… it feels lonely.
I keep thinking there has to be a better way. Just tired of pouring so much in and getting nothing out. I don't know, maybe I am doing something wrong?
If you’ve been through this and made it to the other side — how did you do it?
What helped? What would you tell someone stuck in this part of the process?
Thanks in advance for any real talk. Means a lot just to not feel alone in this.
EDIT: Thank you for all the amazing responses already. Really means a lot to know I'm not alone in this. Learned some game-changing ideas (Optimize your resume before even thinking about cover letters, volume over value, get referrals on Linkedin).
Also discovered some helpful tools you guys mentioned (like Resume analyzers and HiraJobs) for managing the stress and wasted time. Going to stop trying to do everything at once and focus on the essentials. Will make you proud, I promise!

I am a STEM student and have been applying to 80+ summer internships, I got 4 interviews so far (1 of them is one-way interview) and got no offer so far. Could it be my interview skills (I am very introverted, get nervous easily during interviews)? How shall I improve my interview skills and increase my chances of getting an offer?

Hey guys! I thought I'd create a masterthread for those who applied to the Southwest Airlines spring internships. I mostly wanted to keep us lined up and informed about timelines to make sure we're not getting ghosted or anything.
I applied on 9/4 and I've received no word yet. I'll edit this post or add a comment in this thread if any updates happen. Also if I get moved to the next stages I'll let people know what questions they ask and the like.
Edit 9/26: just got rejected 😔

As someone who is looking for an internship currently I made a lot of applications and I wasn't able to get much replies ... I know the job market isn't great but then how are the people getting those internships getting them? Would be nice to have some insight

Thought it would be nice to have everyone’s conversations consolidated to one post. Feel free to share your timeline or ask!
Oct 30: applied to 4 roles
Nov 14: got invited to complete hirevue for one position

The title.
I'm trying to get into the game industry as a Comp Sci student who's graduating this summer. I've edited, modified, and went to my school's career center to ensure that my resume is close to perfect.
I've applied to around 30-40 internships. So far, I've only gotten 1 (first-round) interview, that someone internal gave me an referral. I got the rejection letter...
Everything else that I've applied to went to automatic rejection.
I get that that's the way of the industry and job hunting but OMG this hurts. I feel like I'm not good enough or I wasting my time putting in applications.
Tomorrow(3/29) I have a technical interview but I'm scared that I will mess this up even though I don't get nervous during interviews and I've been practicing. The way that I got this one is from my dad giving the resume to the HR (which in my opinion is cheating but I'm desperate at this point)
I made my resume in Canva, but I did convert it to a word doc since I know Canva pdf's can be overlooked by AI scanners.
What do I do? I'm desperate....

I’m an employer with an internship posted on Handshake. I’ve received some 40 applications - but 99% of them have applied incorrectly. In the description, it pretty clearly states you have to visit our website and fill the application from there and send it to us via email. Yet, almost everyone is just applying through handshake by simply clicking “apply” and sending me their profile. When I send a message back explaining they have to follow the directions to have their application considered, no one responds. What is this phenomenon and how do I course correct it?
Edit: thanks so much for the valuable feedback. My heart goes out to those of you struggling to find a placement. I’ve run this program twice now and I’ve found both years that students who reach out to me asking questions about the program and have demonstrated they researched it first have been the ones that we’ve moved to an interview - hope that’s helpful.

So I am in second year of my college and I extracted around 4000 emails from Apollo.io from the financial services industry setting location to Delhi, gurgaon and noida and cold mailed and cold mailed employees in the company which are in the HR and finance department,in the span of 1 month and still didn't landed any internship , yes I got around 50 replies around 80% of them stating that we don't have any openings right now and remaining saying that I have forwarded your resume to HR , but after that it's been weeks I have not got anything from their side , what is the thing that I am missing , please guide me through it.

Hey everyone! I know the URBN internship interview process can feel super stressful, and it seems like many of us are left in the dark about updates… whether it’s about our own applications or hearing what others are experiencing
I was thinking it might be really helpful (and kinda fun) to start a group chat where we can connect as applicants… We could share updates, like which company and position we applied to, and let everyone know if/when we get invited to second interviews? I feel like it could really ease some of the anxiety and give us a chance to support each other during this process. Plus I think it’d be a great way to meet people before the big interview day :-)
If this sounds like something you’d want to be part of, send me a DM!!
⚠️ EDIT: I received word that all teams have selected final candidates this year for the interview days. If you haven’t heard back yet, it’s likely you aren’t moving forward. Congrats to those who have been chosen to move forward in this highly competitive process! I’m glad I was able to grow a community of like-minded, super talented individuals !!!! See you next year 🫡

I've had 5 hirevues with Warner Bros: - Employer branding social media intern - Bleacher Report gaming social media intern - Creative Production Intern - Creative production service manager intern - Franchise and Consumer Product Marketing intern
For anyone who applied to these or any other roles and got a hirevue, have you received a final round interview?

I am now a Senior, graduating a semester late in December 2025 trying to find an internship for the Summer. I am majoring in finance, minoring in real estate, and want to do something in the commercial real estate field. For the past 3 years I have been applying to internships all over the place and still have never gotten a first round interview anywhere. I go to a pretty good school and have a gpa of ~3.65. I have networked with people, attended campus recrutiting events, etc. my biggest fear is graduating college with zero internship experience. How do I navigate this? It's already March and I am panicking.

I applied to 350+ internships, 99.99% rejection rate.
I got two companies that messaged me, one I did the final interview and was rejected(I did not want them either way) It's a role in operations at a hotel. I am a CS major. At some point I was applying to random roles thinking this was going to be a good idea.
The other one I received an email to move to the next step and do an Online Interview. Its been since late Oct and I never heard back, should I send an email?
I have applied to the same positions in that company but different office locations. And applied to the same office location once. Is this a problem?
