Interesting idea, definitely want to see how it turns out. I had my dog as a puppy cut a 4 inch long skull deep gash on her head with a standard half inch round tube "fancy"-ish coffee table decorative bottom with a jank not finished/rounded off weld, id want to see this encased in something perhaps epoxy or enclosed otherwise it'd be a real danger for kids and animals.

Excellent point. Don't have any kids or pets, so was really only concerned with my own toes. I like the idea of encasing it in epoxy. I think that could look really cool.

Yea i didn't think the finished and painted metal decor on that table was an issue for years until I had a 3 month old puppy slice her head clean open really deep on it out of nowhere just being down there and that small. It doesn't even take a sharp edge, just an edge at all really. Prepare for the worst, better to do the precautions than have to fix an outcome imo. I also think done right the epoxy idea would look really cool too, like a wood table but way more dope being metal and im sure there's good ways to layer it on instead of one big hunk in it type of thing too

Aw, poor pup :( And yeah, I think rounded on the face of it, so the whole leg is like a quarter circle could be really cool. I've never worked with epoxy in that way before, but from what I understand, yes, I think layers are gonna be a must. Really appreciate the input.

I love the design but I can't get over how bad she sliced her head on a little half inch tube with a tiny cap crappily welded on ended up being, this looks like the stuff of nightmares to me without being covered of some sort lol. Best of luck I'm looking forward to the finished project!
