The guys on the right aren’t looking too good either, that’s how the cop ended up in the opposing lanes. If someone told me this was a town of idiots, I couldn’t find evidence to suggest otherwise.
There’s a mental gap in people who just think oh I’d better pull over right away, and if I can’t, I’ll just come to a dead stop. You’re supposed to move out of the way and pull over, even if you have to driving past the other idiots who came to a dead stop to do so.
People like that have no right operating a vehicle, I don't give a crap about the bullshit excuse that they basically NEED to drive because everything is built for cars. If your brain can't process even a simple situation like this u shouldn't be driving a 2 ton death machine period.
yes and they weren't going to move out of the left lane just because there's a cop with lights and sirens. Best to just come to a stop wherever they are
the video started late. the police could have just started the light. it might take a bit for anyone to move honestly but it did look like they stopped.
As an EMT, ive seen people literally blocking all lanes of traffic at a green intersection even when im right behind them with lights and sirens. Some will even effectively brake check you and just sit there so you have to move around them.
Yeah its worse, the initial failure to move right, is compounded by blocking the cop by stopping in the space the cop might have ducked in behind to get out the way. They held the cop out there.
Although, the cop could have used the far right lane themselves to start with.
Where I'm from, people are taught to move over to the right, and emergency vehicles are taught to always try to pass on the left (unless safety or something dictates otherwise, like the exit being on the right).
That being said, far too many people pull over to the left or into opposing traffic instead of moving to the right even though it's clear.
Honestly, driving standards to hold a license needs to be stricter, with recurrent testing and more avenues to have the license revoked.
Not sure where this is , but i got my first license in Germany.
It was much more difficult and expensive to get a license there than in the US. If my dog had thumbs he could probably get a license in the US
It's POSSIBLE the cop wanted to go into that drive on the left, so he went early into opposing traffic, problem being that the opposing traffic stopped weirdly and one of them almost blocking the entrance....
