Ooooh.....I don't want to be in that driver's shoes. Pretty sure there's ALLLLLL sorts of pain coming their way. Mostly legal and financial.
This reminds me of an older co-worker, who was driving to work one day, and spotted a turkey vulture flying towards her car. Here's how the conversation she had with herself played out:
"Damn, that's a big bird!"
"Wow, that bird is BIG!"
"Uh...why isn't it getting out of my way?"
*BANG* (as the "big bird" embedded itself squarely in the center of her windshield)
Pretty sure the driver in this post probably had a similar conversation before they hit the police cruiser.
That happened to my dad once. An eagle dive-bombed his truck and smashed right through the windshield. It landed on the seat and died. My dad figured it miscalculated going after something on the side of the highway. One of the few times my dad ever had to call his work to say he wasn't going to be coming in.
It was... eventful. Thankfully nobody else was with him. I figure a 10 lb. eagle in a full dive-bomb could do some pretty moderate structural damage to the human body.
Yeah. Shaken up (and more than a little upset at having to replace the windshield), but like I said, the eagle landed on the passenger seat, fortunately.
Just not the sort of thing he expected, driving down the highway, window down, warm summer breeze blowing through his hair, Rolling Stones on the radio, then
