My sister's safe...

And it's in her garage where the door stays open all day.

Maybe she just got it for fire protection?  Like I keep my passport in mine. And plan on putting other stuff that might be too expensive to replace. I don't expect anyone to want to steal my birth certificate and such, but I don't want to go through the hassle of getting a replacement birth certificate from a hospital in West Germany that might not even exist anymore post-reunification.

I think that's what the safe is for but she could have at least put the code on the back or the bottom.

Come to think of it - does that thing even use a code?

Yeah. The code is on the top. We’ve got the same one at work

That would be some next-level gaslighting. I should go put a code on my key safe.

I've got a similar safe purely for fire protection. It's got a key not a code though, so I literally just leave the key in the lock so if I need to open it quick I can or if the house burns down I don't have to find the key in a separate pile of ashes.
