Why isn't it already should be the question.

Never had it.

Why would anyone install a dedicated app to access a single website?

This is a weird take, almost all apps are games or dedicated to one site/service

Are you sure it's not stupid? There is zero reason to use something like Twitter's app instead of the website, at least not any reason that serves the user's interests.

I use the mobile more often then the website because I prefer a mobile UI

They’re very clearly talking about the top comment in this thread

Sure but I don't think that who they responded to was talking about. I think they were talking about OP

Sometimes it's the quickest source of news for some things. For example F1 still use it a lot for announcements. That's the only reason I still have it but even then I might ditch it soon if I can't even view posts without subscribing.

Doesn’t all that stuff get immediately cross posted to the F1 subreddits?

I was in the same boat, I really enjoyed the F1 side of Twitter. Seemed to stay pretty solid even after the rest of the app started falling off the rails. Unfortunately the app as a whole became so unbearable I had to get off it about a year ago

I grew up before the internet. I can assure you you’ll survive just fine using a slightly slower source.

Exactly, you want a media leak or an uncensored video or news, just open twitter and type the keyword

Literally the last mainstream app that still allows it, Bluesky does but it's still young, and Reddit has been cracking down hard on it lately.

I'm out of the loop. How has reddit been cracking down lately?

Banning moderated subs, saying they're "unmoderated", won't let new mods take over

Basically any sub without someone on the Admin team is fair game
