Calradic Campaign Defanging the Wolf - Bannerlord Calradic Campaign #56

Lore

The men are wavering.

Rhotae has been put to the sword by the Battanians, sending even more refugees flooding into the remaining cities and castles under the control of the Basileus. Aserai dominance of the Perassic hinders western ships at every turn, strangling their trade with the rest of the continent. Even while the claimants of the North and South harry the border garrisons, every Legionary reserves the bulk of their hate for the memory of the Great Sack of Lageta.

The Battanians are no strangers to tragedy. Following the disappearance of High King Robert on the field of battle, the chieftains of the hills have been long mourning their beloved king. The strongest among them, Robert's own marshal Corbo, has ascended to High Kingship following oaths sworn of loyalty to the new leader of the clans.

Vowing to avenge Robert's fall by destroying the enemies of Battania, now High King Corbo has turned his eye on the fledging Western Empire. With Vlandia in total control of the passes allowing access through the Rhennod Mountains, the punishment worthy of their crimes will have to wait. In the mean time, their imperial friends will make a fine carcass for the wolves.

Stirring the clan leaders into a fury, High King Corbo has mustered his men and descended on the west, intent on repeating Battanian hospitality to the great city of Jalmarys. The High King is betting that should the remaining western cities be divided, their loyalties will falter, and with it, their isolated walls. The ancient seat from which the Calradians began their conquest of the Palaic people will no doubt be a fine reward for the High King's loyal clan of Fen Sorados.

However, the High King is not the only ruler with tricks up his sleeve. Basileus Deos is in no rush to lose the city that holds his court, and has received advance word of the attack from a group of Battanian legionaries that maintain correspondence with their former village chief. Rather than prepare a firm defense and hope to withstand the Battanian storm, Deos has instructed the Limitanei to harass and delay the Battanian host for as long as possible. While the border guards buy time for the West, the Basileus has divided his forces into two hosts, tasking his brother Komes Fuga with subduing the undermanned Thractorae castle. Meanwhile, Deos will take the other half and attack Hertogea, hoping the Imperial eagle can be raised before the worst happens to Jalmarys. Should his gambit succeed, the Battanians will be forced to abandon their siege of Jalmarys without steady supply lines.

In Meta Terms

Welcome to the fifty-sixth Bannerlord Calradic Campaign! This event will feature the Western Empire taking a risky gambit to prevent a Battanian sack.

If the West can defeat the garrisons along the border castles in battle, they will lay siege to Hertogea and Thractorae. Should the Battanians defeat the Western scheme, they will continue the siege of Jalmarys.

Unfamiliar with the Calradic Campaign? Have no fear! The Calradic Campaign is a casual, player-driven, story-based event. There are no strict rules or signups, and players of all skill levels often come! If you've never tried multiplayer, now is your best chance to experience large-scale formations and battles without the overly strict practices typically found in line battle/clan-style events.

Victories in our flagship monthly events are represented on the overall campaign map, while roleplay surrounding the events and their consequences take place both during said events and on the community Discord. Joining our Discord allows you to communicate with your fellow faction members, trash-talk others, and rise through the ranks to one day become lord of a village, castle, city, or if you're particularly successful, an entire kingdom!

To join the event, you will need our Calradic Campaign Module. This module contains all of the custom battle and siege scenes used, as well as many stability fixes and balance changes. Most importantly, the module features three distinct empire factions in multiplayer, with each one featuring unique perks and cosmetics to lean into the different situations of the three!

There will be a manual installation of the module available for those not playing on Steam. Check the Nexus mods page no sooner than the Friday before the event for the correct download. You will need the CalradicCampaign#56 file.

As a general rule of thumb, the Calradic Campaign module should be the only one enabled in your launcher! If you have any crashes or issues trying to launch the game / join the server, unsubscribing and resubscribing to the module on the workshop will often fix any issues.

Is it worth it to go back from bannerlord to warband (never played before) for Pendor mod?

I never played warband before but I keep reading the name Pendor here on this sub and people seem to really love that mod.

Should I try it or do you think it’ll be a turn-off because I‘m used to bannerlord graphics/UI?

Any strategy besides F1-F3?

I’ve been trying to come up with a strategy in Warband, but since I have to move to set it up, enemies arrive and it ends up being useless. Any strategy besides just having everyone charge? That way it feels almost like autoresolve.

Did they remove this feature?

I remember that you used to be able to attack the Castle/City Keep, did they remove it or am I tripping?

Warband [Warband] How screwed am I? Over 900 Nords besieging Praven, we only have about 450 men

Praven's garrison plus another lord in the town plus my forces equal about 450 men, while the Nords have a bit over 900.

Can this be won or should I cut my losses and get out of here?

Warband My battlefield strategy, what's yours?

Usually, at the start, I start placing my troops on advantageous position.

I put spearmen in front, archers at the back, infantry placed at the sides of the archers and cavalry/horse archers at the other side of the archers. Also it's advisable that you find higher hill for your archers so your archers can have good vantage point and your horseys got a good acceleration cus it's downhill and enemy cavalry slows down when they start to climb your archers. (You still got infantry and cavalry protecting your archers' sides)

Then I would go attack the enemy so they would get agitated and start charging my men (important, cus I do attack, run, and defend)

What I do is I put spearmen on "hold your fire" so they can attack upcoming cavalry with their spear but not throw their javelins since it's almost useless when they try to hit a moving horse archer.

Sometimes, if I have many archers, I order them to shoot enemy horseys but conserve some arrows for enemy spearmen.

The horse archers goes first to attack you most of the time but when I repelled their attack I make my archers hold their fire.

Next to attack you are enemy skirmishers, you can just easily pick them off with archers honestly. So next would be enemy spearmen, mostly good armored and with shields. When the enemy spearmen get closer I order my archers to start firing at them. So their shields starts getting damage, heck, sometimes I get kills. When they get even more closer, javelin range, I order spearmen to fire their javelins and in that moment they start breaking their shields and get killed one by one before they even get to reach my spearmen.

After that, when there's no more new enemy reinforcements, I just order all my troops to charge so my horses could envelope the enemy spearmen and kill the routers. If there's enemy reinforcements, I order them to their initial positions and repeat the same process.

Question [POP] Any advice for footsoldier Roleplay?

I was wondering if its possible to do a no mount no archer build play through because honestly I am starting to get sick of the dominant meta horse archer builds that is generally recommended.

I was thinking of roleplaying as a daughter of a fallen viking chieftain yada yada. Start out as an infantry. Eventually grow to become a Valkyrie. The noble unit line etc.

Problem is, I have never played as a footsoldier before. I mean i cant even think of a way to defeat my enemies in the early game as I am probably gonna get chased down and ganged banged. So, I was hoping maybe a few of you have done similar play through before and have some work arounds?

Any advice or additional tips is welcomed and appreciated.
