The fact that he can maintain that grip while standing up with the stone and then also while lifting it onto the pedestal is insanely impressive

One punch man in real life

I know a guy who’s big in the caving community. When he was caving as a teen, a boulder fell and crushed his left arm. He still has the arm, but it’s atrophied and useless. Well that didn’t stop his lust for cave exploration and he still caves into his 80’s. And not just caves, but he’s one of the fastest cavers and is often referred to as a cave goat for his speed (you often gotta move on all fours).

I imagine the right hook would feel like being slapped with a fish.

u/PunkToTheFuture 2d ago

Thanks Dad. You're insightful as always

19

u/Death_Rises 2d ago

Which would obviously throw you off guard and that's when the left hook gets ya.

11

u/Slenderpig 1d ago

The ol' fish/hook surprise. Gets em every time.

3

u/NevesLF 1d ago

He starts with the right so you get confident and put your guard down.

4

u/CMP24-7 1d ago

Looks like if he threw a left hook, it'd be an instant KO.

1

u/usinjin 1d ago

My head would be left imagining as it sailed on its maiden voyage past the stratosphere.

1

u/sexaddic 1d ago

Yeah but I bet his right hook feels like my dreams

1

u/BRAX7ON 20h ago

Your instinct would be to circle left. But you would never expect that right whip

u/ManLikeDan- 2d ago

What a beast! Incredibly impressive.

u/modsaregh3y 2d ago

Amazing, I feel guilty for having a functioning body and not using it. Wish I had a quarter of this guy’s willpower!!

3

u/Serious_Dot4984 1d ago

Never too late to start!

1

u/modsaregh3y 1d ago

Yeah for sure!

Just seeing someone do something like this forces a mirror onto my own weak assness 🤣👌

5

u/Reasonable-Bus-2187 2d ago

Gotta hand it to him

My great-grandfather lost one arm when he was a teen. He slipped on the ice while hunting, and when the shotgun hit the ground, it went off. He blew his arm off above the elbow, but thankfully didn't hit any vital organs.

I only new my great-grandfather when he was very old, but my mother tells stories about his abilities in his working years. He worked in construction. With one arm, he would grab a framing nail, seat it in his palm, punch it into the wood far enough for the nail to stay. Then, grab a hammer from a hook at his side and pound the nail in.

Sometimes an injury that disables one side, makes you far stronger on the other to compensate.

I really love this story but also am that guy

I bet he got blamed for a lot of shit that One-Armed Man guy did

6

u/Friendly_Engineer_ 2d ago

Wow, so what is our excuse?

Disabled person here.

Short answer: Social Model of Disability.

Longer answer: You are only as disabled as your environment is adapted to your needs.

Long answer: Disabilities come in many forms, but our environment either enables or disables us. If we build more ramps and elevators, wheelchair users gain more independence and become less disabled. They may still have health issues, but if society provides adequate treatment, their level of disability decreases.

This perspective isn't limited to those with physical or mental conditions. If your environment doesn’t allow you to train for certain events, you’ll never achieve great feats of strength. Your ability to shape your environment determines your success; whether it’s buying a house, making friends, or graduating from college.

Tl;DR: You are disabled.

The fear of crushing my balls if I lift one of those stones like this.

1

u/Street-Animator-99 16h ago

More like every toe

3

u/Topaz_UK 2d ago

I’m fat and lazy

3

u/jbrunoties 2d ago

Yes but what about the other 17 people?

1

u/ajibtunes 2d ago

Two hands, not impressive enough to try

1

u/Business-Chard-7664 1d ago

Nothing. I need to start getting more exercise.

2

u/Vladi_Sanovavich 2d ago

If his right hand isn't working, how did he put on gloves on his left hand and why did he put gloves on his right hand?

5

u/Lonely-Actuator-4821 2d ago

Someone could've helped him right? I'm sure people still do that. Do they???

2

u/Vladi_Sanovavich 2d ago

I mean, no one's helping him carry those heavy spheres. So, who knows?

4

u/Lonely-Actuator-4821 2d ago

Cause it's a competition right

1

u/Flatulent_Father_ 2d ago

I think it's a brace on the right hand, maybe to prevent contractures. Not a glove.

-1

u/AstralOutlaw 2d ago

Nextfuckinglevelstupid.

1

u/aw1290 2d ago

I'm right handed and useless with my left.. but even with both hands, would not be able to do this!

1

u/ReliableChoom 2d ago

This is impressive, I wish I could implement my third leg that well

1

u/MelodicComputer5 2d ago

Absolute beast. Inspirational.

1

u/DerRedfox 2d ago

He should just use his right arm too, I bet that would make this easier

1

u/mattiperreddit 2d ago

I would never keep that barrel

1

u/mrgrassydassy 2d ago

Pure determination. No excuses, just strength.

1

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 2d ago

I couldn't do it with two arms.

1

u/Lopsided-Egg-8322 2d ago

this is hella impressive..

1

u/lordofthehomeless 2d ago

That guy is handicappable

1

u/Optimal-Giraffe-7168 1d ago

Wow, power and adaptation. That guy lives mas

1

u/Zealousideal-Swing44 1d ago

Wow dude is incredible

1

u/EorlundGraumaehne 1d ago

Damn have two working arms and could never do the first one!

1

u/wpfone2 1d ago

I just kept hoping those people with their hands on the drum got them out of the way in time!

1

u/Nitasha521 1d ago

Super impressive. My knees and back hurt just watching this.

1

u/Nice_Ad_8183 1d ago

Yeah but those are just enlarged ping pong balls

1

u/DAS1988 1d ago

Why didn't he use his good hand?

1

u/joerudy767 1d ago

Let’s give him a hand!

1

u/KeepingItCoolish 1d ago

Not super familiar with Atlas stones, but from what I can tell first stone was about 100lb, second was about 150lb. I'm basing that on height of the stone compared to the barrels and some searches on the stone weights. Pretty impressive.

1

u/ProfessorKlutzy471 1d ago

Damn what are my excuses?

1

u/WeeTheDuck 1d ago

what's their weights?

1

u/MasterBlaster4949 1d ago

💪💪💪

1

u/pheuq 1d ago

Handicapped and my arms are still thinner than his bad one💔💔 Is it over for me

1

u/MagicHarmony 1d ago

Impressive but at the same time this is the importance of your legs when lifting.

1

u/Ok-Tomorrow-7158 1d ago

This is fucking amazing

1

u/Legitimate-Koala-373 2d ago

Warrior hero, thank you so very much for sharing this precious and inspiring moment with us all today 💙🇿🇦🙏

When someone disabled enters something like this, do not fuck with them. They are on par with other contestants (not to the same degree) with a disability. Don’t want to piss this dude off.

0

u/DickFromRichard 1d ago

Typically there's an adaptive class

0

u/ozyral 1d ago

I had no idea. I just saw this dude lift a bolder with one arm and got scared.

0

u/gochomoe 1d ago

Handicapped seems like the wrong word to use to describe him. I sure as hell couldn't lift that rock
