From what I read it's the biggest tree in the Amazonas, it's height surpasses the 80m and it's protected against wildfire's and illegal deforesters

Protected as much as you can protect something like that. Usually they try to not communicate anything if they find a big tree to avoid tourism and it getting to popular. Last time that happened it didn’t end up good for the biggest tree on earth to that date. Internet is a bitch.

Yeah Hyperion is visited a bunch. It’s sad how many people trample the wildlife to go see it. I wish I could. I want to climb it ( I climb trees for a living ). It’s only an 1hr30ish min away. Problem is that too many people have messed it up and I know if one person did it everyone would. And that would over time destroy and harm the wildlife in the area and harm the tree.
Still would be cool to at least see. Oh well. I’m glad I have the internet so I can at least look at it that way. C’est la vie.

Yep I’m okay without paying 5k. I’ve got the internet for 15$ a month. lol my mortgage is way to high to afford that shit.

I climb trees for a living
Like... to prune and cut them for people/businesses or literally just being paid to climb them?

Prune, remove, for large company who trims for a power company. I also do side work for myself
But sometimes I also climb for funsies. Like people who rock climb….. but trees. But I don’t get paid for that. Lol

I enjoy it immensely. Until it’s pissing rain. Then I like it less. Still fun though. Just sucks to be drenched at 9am and still have 6.5 hrs left to go. lol
But take the good with the okay.

I wasn't able to find that information. But it's a ceiba so they're commonly known for going easily beyond the 160 years.

No estado de Mato Grosso, aqui no Brasil, tem uma de 300 anos com mais de 60 metros de altura. E no estado do Pará, existe um angelim vermelho de mais de 85 metros de altura, com idade entre 400 e 600 anos.

yeah I agree with the Portuguese based on the few words I can make out - 160 years is WAY too low. Several hundred for sure, like they said based on height.

Enjoy them while you can. Here in the US they are gearing up to chop down much of the remaining old growth. The media hasn’t been covering this because there’s too much other chaos happening.

Some mining company will end up chopping it down for a few ounces of unobtanium
