the office was just corporate media portraying corporate life as goofy and fun. if the office took place in REAL life, michael scott would be a BILLIONAIRE who would EXPLOIT jim and pam and all the others and HOARD all the wealth.

Not even close. Michael Scott was a caricature of middle management. In the grand scheme of things, he wouldn't be making that much more than Jim. Certainly not billions.

Did they watch the office? lmao. Robert California and Joe Bennett who were the CEO’s and owners were both Millionaires at a minimum and meet the stereotypical opinion on the real life version of CEO/Company Owner. Micheal Scott literally barely makes more than the office staff and even the warehouse staff as shown in the show.

The corporate life is obviously terrible. It 100% starts off that way in season 1 before they make it more heartfelt and focus on the relationships and not the work itself but there’s plenty of storyline about the shittyness of corporate work and the hi-jinx are not unrealistic for an office of a small regional company with multiple incompetent managers.

The Office literally criticize Corporate and shows how in the middle of a large crisis they are willing to expend huge expenses when Michael was in that Shareholders meeting.
