There are some more positive associations; see for instance the horns on the altar, and the use of animal horns as musical instruments. On the other hand, Daniel 7 uses apocalyptic imagery that John later draws upon, including that of a beast with ten horns.

There's also a translation quirk in which Moses was portrayed in the Latin Vulgate as having horns after descending from the mountain. Later translations arrived at 'shining' or 'emitting rays', but not before inspiring some odd artwork.

Alexander the Great was depicted with rams horns in coins found around Egypt and the outlying areas, as he embraced superstitions that he was an avatar of Zeus-Amun which was an amalgamation of Hellenistic and Egyptian dieties.
