I'm a bit confused... I'm going to recap this to make sure I understand the context.

  1. You were 8 or 9 having a non-school related conversation.

  2. Someone thought that was inappropriate and told you off about it.

Am I missing something?

Op made a karma farm post about overreacting for being told off in class, I called her out for it being nothing more than a karma farm post. Op cries and posts this. I’m the guy op had removed name.

Why would you assume this was a karma farm post?

This is in an ‘overreacting’ subreddit, where, people post genuine concerns.

This is clearly a kid crying for attention after being told to stop talking during class

I mean, that is textbook overreacting, though. Lol

No, op means to say the person telling them off for talking is overreacting

Ah! chose the wrong sub then. That's more offmychest or vent. Do you think the story is fake?

I just don’t think it’s worth telling. You got told to stop talking when you was 8. Big deal

That's fair, but we also don't actually know how old OP currently is or if they have a reason to hold onto things like this.

It sounds like they were told it's not okay for a girl to talk to a man even if he's her teacher, and asking if that sort of extreme conservative controle of her is reasonable or not. I would say if I'm understanding correctly that societal stance towards girls specifically is a valid thing to question.

Coming here may not fit entirely, but I'm guessing she took your response as not beleiving that the faculty could have been being sexist apposed to just telling a student not to talk in class. In that sense being like "nah you were just told to be quiet" could kind of fit nothing ever happens.

I can see this being a misunderstanding too though.

No

What did they say was inappropriate about the conversation?

just a girl talking to a man in class

May I ask where you are from? Different cultures have different rules about that. I used to work at a devoutly religious school where girls weren't allowed to touch any male that wasn't in their family, and they couldn't speak to them with a male family member present.

yeah i was in a conservative area but there's no strict rules that u can't do that.

I mean, this is definitely plausible. I'm just curious as to why you are currently bringing it up? Did something happen?

Are you still a child? That seems to be the issue. Either way, unless you or the adult was doing something inappropriate, then no.
