Official Which VR games are you enjoying at the moment?

Welcome to the recommendation thread! :)

Share with the rest of the subreddit which games and experiences you've been enjoying recently.

How did you come across the game, what were your first impressions like, what did you like about it—and most importantly—would you recommend the rest of us to try it, or stay away?

A couple of suggestions when posting:

  • Put names of the app in bold for easier skim reading.

  • Keep in mind that this is all about personal impressions and opinions, so if someone didn't enjoy your favourite title feel free to discuss why, but do so in a civil manner. No harassing anyone for having a different opinion.

  • Use spoiler tags when discussing plot-sensitive topics, so as to not spoil things for people who haven't played it yet.

  • Upvote informative and well-written posts to encourage quality discussion.

  • Add a store link to the app.

One Quest 3 or Two Quest 3s ?

Upvotes

Pretty much as the title asks;

What would be the recommendation? One Quest 3, or Two Quest 3s's?

On the one hand I'll be the heavy user as I intend to work and game on the thing. Working daily, and gaming fairly regularly.

My partner isn't really a game enthusiast but she's played from time to time some of the more fun or relaxed couch co-op games like Overcooked. I also have a niece and nephew in town who might play from time to time.

The cost is close so it's doable I suppose?

Thoughts? Opinions?

How do I get rid of the notification "Your controllers can't be found. Please pick up your controllers to continue... " in Quest Link?

Post image

This happened after the latest update. The notification pops up within 10 secs of me putting down my quest controller in Quest Link. It is quite irritating as I only need to use my mouse in Quest Link 'Desktop' mode.

Video Fighting dragons while riding a dragon - One of the coolest gaming experience I've ever had thanks to Skyrim VR modded and AI enabled

Fighting dragons while I ride a dragon in VR! One the craziest experience I've ever had in gaming. I didn't even know I could do this in the game

I installed Skyrim in VR and applied all the mods I wanted and have been trying Skyrim for the very first time ever. Keep in mind that I never played any version of Skyrim or Elder Scrolls before. This AI and VR technologies are absolutely blowing my mind and I have no doubt that VR and AI-powered NPCs are the future of gaming.

I created some rules for myself during my playthroughs to try to increase my immersion even further: - Do not use fast-travel; - Do not buy a horse; - Do not pause the game during combat; - Use functionalities that pause the game as little as possible; - Do not save the game unless you went through a loading screen or going to exit the game.

The general NPCs AI is just a very cool gimmick. However the AI companio actually adds alot to the game: - she spontaneously speaks to you in context of what has been happening / just happened / is happening  in you adventures; - you can give her orders (for example attack x enemy). She has a moral compass tho so to attack some NPCs require you to reason with her. - you can ask to know about places or people (not all tho) - you can define objectives (e.g., lead the way to x) - you can talk to her about whatever you like

I'm uploading this video because I like to record my sessions and I'm sharing it online because someone might find it useful / interesting in someway.

Sorry about the sound or my occasional rumblings. I try very much to contain myself but sometimes I'm not able to because VR is quite immersive.

Hope you have a great day!

Hardware Text unreadable in games

Basically what the title says. Everything is fine, the resolution looks good everywhere but when it comes to in-game text it's blurry and unreadable. Is this an universal problem or just a me problem? Can I fix it?

Quest 3 losing tracking and spinning uncontrollably

So when I play on my quest 3 after like 15 minutes of playing it takes all my controls away and starts to spin randomly and if it either eventually fixes itself or makes it so I can't play and if it fixes itself it makes the controller tracking horrible and glitchy does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Quest 3 lens protectors won't stay clean/smudging easily

I got a quest 3 today and I'm playing it, but the lens protectors keep getting smudged and dirty somehow. It's causing games to look really blurry and glare a lot.
The included microfiber cloth they sent with the lens actually left a small scratch on one of them.

I don't want to take them off, because I'm worried it'll damage the actual lens the same way.

Software Pinball FX VR demo... kinda...

15 minutes isn't long enough. I would have rather it be 5 minutes in game for each of the 3 games (then lock them) or anything.

1st time launching, took 2 minutes... so it was a 13 minute demo they had my height wrong, and I couldn't figure out how to get the right height. I just adjusted the in game height to its lowest and had to sit on the ground. Started one game. The game itself was good. I own many of the vr pinball titles. Seemed like a hands down great port. Quit out before I finished a game to look at the other tables... Game crashes out... Relaunch (only 2 minutes left at this time) and run over and try the nuor one (sp??) but now the height is at floor level when standing (the relaunch had my proper height, but my ingame height was wrong). That game looked good but I couldn't see anything but the front since it now thought I was 3 ft tall.

I didn't have time to test the MR mode also. Sigh..

Anyway, just a bit disappointed in the timeout. I'm probably going to buy it... but I'm still a bit pissed that I can't bring my fx tables I've bought for 2d. I understand that I wouldn't get the people walking around and such. But really I could do without them anyway. I would rather have a multi player mode where friends avatars could hang out the left and/or right and we could talk and take turns then have some NPC next to me really. But why can't you just say, you bought the FX version of these 20 games. Play them where you will. I would buy them all if that was the case if I felt like they would travel with me... And also take note, there are ways to play many of these games free (not great in vr, but just wait until someone does a decent port (ok easy port) of vpinball vpx ect. I want a legal way to play in vr but I also don't want to purchase the same table every few years.

Software Quest 2 Stutter, Frame drop issue, Link is horrible.

This is seriously getting on my nerves

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Check the video above or below, it is important and explains most of the issue here.

Hello r/oculus, I am here to talk about Oculus/Meta's worst software: Link.
I have made some weird discoveries, and most of them lie within the video, so you should definetly check it out while you're at it. But heres a few things: I have done EVERY step EVERYWHERE, and nothing worked, what a surprise.

  • Turned off GPU Scheduling, Game Mode, and a lot of others like Anti-Virus etc.
  • Used DDU, Reinstalled Drivers, No difference
  • Tried different pc's (got the same result), tried different cables (same result)
  • Reinstalled, Modified and did anything to get the Link software to work (nothing)
  • Debug tool did nothing and it kept being horrible.
  • Tried different games
  • Virtual Desktop works flawlessly, no stutter on it's end.
  • SteamVR and without SteamVR, still stutters.
  • Reinstalled Windows (Actually worked for a day, until it stopped working)
  • OBS Has nothing to do with the stuttering, nor has Discord.

My Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790s
GPU: INNO3D NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB
RAM: 32 GB of DDR3

(Even if my hardware is horrible, just know that it worked flawlessly until I restarted the PC and restarted my Quest, telling me that I think the software is dumping some files or something that might be causing this stuttering issue, and I think we should theorize about what the issue is if Meta can't do it themselves.)

Link having problems

I have two issues, one being when I plug my headset to my computer it wont show up in the connect menu, and another issue I am having is I will press the link button when it IS there and it will set my screen black, and then go back to the main oculus menu rather than doing the link mode. Can I do anything about this?

Im new to VR and need help

So im new to VR and got an oculus quest 2 recently, issue is that the link cable isnt linking. Its acting as a charging cable but providing nothing to connect at all, no prompt, no connection signal from the pc app, just the beep saying its plugged in and charging (Second hand hesdset in decent condition, no known majot issues or damage outside of light use) Ive checked a lot of possible reasons so ill go down the list of things ive done to try and fix it on my own

1: check drivers and ensure they are working/ reinstalling them

2: resetting and restarting all software/systems

3: factory reset on the headset

4: reinstalling quest link pc app

5: attempted to enable developer mode but after enabling it in the app nothing happened in the headset or elsewhere aside from a couple of setting that do nothing to solve this problem appearing

6: check the specs of my pc with the requirements to run vr, everything is greenlight

7: going through wvery manner of tutorial to try and figure this out, the last 3-4 hours has been nothing but 5-15 minutes "quest 2 link cable all problems solved" videos and the collective forums of people who sought help with metas forums or generalized google searches like "meta quest 2 pc link cable not detecting my headset despite charging it"

8: scouring the settings only to find 90% of the settings that would be a "fix" dont exist anymore, also checking for updates while this happened and nothing on that front.

I need help to try to see if i can get this thing functioning or if i have to chalk up my losses and move on. If this violates the rules in any way ill remove it and fix the post so its not violating the rules. (I checked the faqs, pretty diligently and didnt see an answer there and this is my last resort, any and all help is appreciated)

Discussion I have POOR LATENCY for pcvr quest 3 vd gaming. Please advise...

I cant find a COMPREHSIVE guide to EVERYTHING to optimise pcvr gaming for q3.

I've noticed that my router isn't supported on any site or app anymore and has no software to adjust anything (just on autopilot?) and my latency has gone up to around 70 and no idea how to improve it...

And im not even sure what software to use to see what is going on. Im using **Virtual desktop '**performance overlay' to monitor latency ... but i can also see and feel its off on all games...

Maybe you can see where im going wrong...

MY SETUP: IN SAME ROOM (q3 is 2 m from router)

  • desktop pc win 10 64bit
  • nvidia 3080 gpu 10gb / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor 3.40 GHz / corsair 48 ram 2133mhz / ssd 2 gig HD
  • Main modem - Virgin media hub 3.0
  • dedicated vr router - asus ax1800 dual band wifi 6 router
  • Download speed 275 mbps
  • Upload speed 25 mbps
  • Using Virtual desktop app = codec av1 10bit / auto bitrate off / openxr runtime VDXR.
  • VD streamer settings = HIGH / 90fps / 200 mbps (max) bitrate / 75% sharpening /snapdragon GSR "on" / SSW "automatic" / increase color vibrance "on"
  • Settings = desktop bitrate 120 / frame rate 90 / environment quality "high"

DO i need a new router? im told the "TP-Link Archer AXE75 AXE5400Mbps WiFi 6E Router Tri-Band, WiFi Router" is good...

Or do i need a new ISP or master hub or faster broadband ?

or a new pc haha ...I cant afford a new pc ;)

Any suggestions would be great.

Discussion Is anybody else having problems with new boundary

When I first got the new soap bubble boundary it was pretty cool, but it fucking sucks. It constantly keeps resetting pulling 180s and all these magic tricks as well as constantly asking me if I want to move my boundary every time I step out
