Over 1 million people protested the war in iraq, and nothing changed this will be no different.

So what should we do? Sit down and take it? Weβre voting, weβre protesting, weβre doing what we can.

Don't listen to people like this, their negativity is akin to complicity.

If those protests hadn't happened, do you think everything would have gone the exact same? I don't think so. There's no way of knowing for sure how much the protests against the war in Iraq did...but imagine if everyone in the country wholeheartedly endorsed it instead. Showing discontent is important, I think. Humans are very social animals, so the more people who speak out against something, the more others feel safe to criticize it to, the more others might start to change their minds...
It's not a straight forward cause/effect, but especially for something as low-effort as going to a nice park with a sign for a couple hours, I think it's worth doing. :)

Go lie down in a dark room if you want, but don't drag other people into it with you.

I went to one near me today. It was lit! They're really getting huge and loud, all around the country. So if you're in the US and if you're ever feeling hopeless, if you think no one is doing anything or cares about what's going on, show up! You'll find lots of people who see what's happening and are willing to speak up. I personally find it cathartic.
