Artwork / Design learning graphic design, any advice/tips?

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hi! I'm new to Photoshop. I created this poster as I am currently obsessed with Ariana Grande's new song intro (end of the world).

Any thoughts? comments? tips/advice? all would be very helpful! and if you don't mind I would really appreciate if you follow my art account on instagram (@/greephicrumbs) especially if you graphic design as well.

Thank you so much! 😁

Help! Photoshop for web - how to save same image in a bunch of smaller sizes without degrading the original

Upvotes

I've used the desktop version of Photoshop for basic to medium tasks for years, and exported images as a bunch of different sizes for different uses all the time, but the web version seems to have hidden this functionality. Searching doesn't turn up exactly what I'm after, either.

This is what I want to achieve:

I have a source, hi-res(ish) image, let's say 3200x1800 for the sake of argument. I want to save it as smaller files for web, avatar, banner, whatever, but without resizing the original. I used to be able to export it at, say 1600x900, then another file at 800x450, then another at 400x225 etc, all the while leaving the original in its 3200x1800 glory.

I'm sure Adobe Photoshop Web will let me do this, I just can't find out how for the life of me. The 'image resize' tool obviously resizes the original image, which I don't want; and the 'Save As' and 'Export' functions don't have resize options any more.

What do I need to do? Pointers to instructions gratefully received. This is clearly user stupidity...

Help! Photoshop effect help!

How do you achieve that black and white effect from the colour image? I'm on with a new project for printing texture and this type of effect gives the best results. I can't seem to get it. I've been trying different methods but at this point I think that I'm overthinking everything.

Also, a bonus if you can help me achieve the same brightness and saturation as the provided image.

Help! Mac: 'An Unknown Error Occurred' when using Export As

Has been happening for awhile for me. Mac Mini Intel 2018. Was on MacOS 12, now updated to 15. Was on PS 2024, then 2025 and different updates. This issues persists through them all.

Clicking that Learn more link takes me to here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/export-artboards-layers.html#common-errors

When I click that link to learn about the workaround it instead redirects me to a generic troubleshooting page with a broken sublink since it seems like the content or original info was removed, making it worthless:

Help! How to combine these photos to make the background one take the shape of the top one?

Hi! So I'm wanting to make a realistic version of a drawing I did of a mountain shaped like a dragon skull.

I'm just wondering if there is a tool that can do this easily? Like the content aware stuff maybe? Or if I have to do it by hand.

Help! Generative fill for beginner?

I just got myself Photoshop and I'm trying to find option to add part from one image to the another image with AI. Aka generative fill from reference photo. But I can't find it. I'm watching some people's tutorials from YouTube and they seem to have these options but for some reason I don't have them. I can generate stuff using words but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. Any help?

Discussion Creating atomic bomb explosion in photoshop?

I have a very large final project coming up for photography class and it has to be a series of 4 photos and each photo must have 4 composited photos with in it. My idea is to take fun pictures of people enjoying everyday life but editing the sky/background to be impending doom end of the world type stuff. I was thinking maybe buying smoke bins to create this affect to composite? Has anyone attempted this type of project? The smoke bombs are pricey and I don't want it to be a huge failure. The first pic is an inspiration pic and the second pic is my personal work I've done.

Help! Can I paste color-formatted text into Photoshop and keep the colors?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I want to copy color-formatted text and paste it into Photoshop, keeping the colors. I make videos and sometimes show code onscreen. I hate using screenshots, I prefer my code to look crisp and clean, so I format it directly in Photoshop for the best resolution.

But every time I paste code in, Photoshop just applies whatever the current Type layer color is. It formats everything the same.

Is there a workaround? Or is this just a limitation of how Photoshop handles pasted text?

Without any better ideas, I've been changing colors of individual words one at a time, and that gets old real fast. Thanks!

Help! Clearing Photoshop (and other creative cloud apps) storage usage

HELP!

I am quickly running out of storage on my laptop after using photoshop, and all google queries to clear storage involve purging caches and deleting temp files, all of which I've done, but the space photoshop occupies remains the same.

Any help to clear storage would be appreciated :)

Help! How To: create grid, then fill grid with image

I've been somewhat retired for almost ten years and when I was working, I worked in Photoshop a bit. This is out of the area I know. We're remodeling our house and I want to add tile patterns to Photoshop to see how they'll look.

I'd like to be able to pull all the tile patterns we like from various web sites, then put them into this PSD to see how they will look. I've used Perspective Warp, and the Vanishing Point filter, but I can't figure out how to use those correctly. Any guidance is appreciated.

This was my first attempt at restoring a photo. I mainly used the following tools in Adobe Photoshop:

  1. Patch Tool

  2. Spot Healing Brush

  3. Healing Brush

  4. Clone Stamp Tool

Lastly, I used an online image upscaler and manually removed the watermark.

How did I do? And how can I improve further?

Solved The line in Photoshop is broken after applying Zoom

Photoshop Version: CC 2018 19.1.5 Release

OS: Windows 10 22H2 19045.5608

Hello! When I apply zoom, the stroke becomes intermittent or absent in the moment, and then reappears after a while as if nothing had happened. But when I use zoom again, the effect repeats. This is very critical for me, as I often use zooming and it affects my productivity.
