The church they belong to is an abusive cult. They control law enforcement and politics in Spindale, NC.

Very glad for you, I imagine a low  percentage are going to escape from a situation like that in such a small town.

I from London and once hooked up with a woman who had recently escaped a cult like this in America. Her and her husband were properly breaking bad, and had gone fully polyamorous as soon as they got to London. She was a bit too freaky for me and it didnt go anywhere, but it was a fun night and I was happy to hear the story of her escape as well.
