Weekly Services Thread April 02, 2025 - Post Your Podcasting Related Product, Tool, Or Service Here

This is a weekly thread for podcasting related product, service, and tool providers to post their capabilities and updates to the r/podcasting community.

Post a podcasting related product, tool, or service that is relevant to the r/podcasting community. If you are in beta or development for your capability please state at the top of your comment: "Feedback Requested."

For all comments/replies to this post thread: please provide a detailed description of what your product, tool, or service does and post a link to your product, service, or tool including relevant pricing information.

Try to remember the following:

  • You must disclose your affiliation to the product, tool, or service in the comment

  • Posts by accounts with little or no Reddit or r/podcasting subreddit history will be considered suspect by many members of this subreddit and receive little or no attention.

  • If you are asking for feedback be specific and ask questions like: What can we improve? Would you consider using this capability/service? Is the graphical interface/web presence adequate? What capabilities are missing?

Examples Of Appropriate Comment Topics:

  • Editing/production services

  • AI Tools

  • Hosting Services

  • Advertisement sales services

  • New Podcasting Software

  • Connecting/Recording Services

  • Guest Connection Services

  • Podcast artwork creation services

  • Podcasting Scheduling/Calendar Services

  • etc

If you are posting for a personal service like editing or social media management keep these thoughts in mind (free or paid):

  • You are basically applying for a job with the podcast; your experience, qualifications, and past employment history matter to your future employer so information about you is important

  • List your current available skills and tools. What DAWs are your capable of operating in? Have you used existing collaborative spaces before? What social media platforms do you have experience in?

  • If you are offering services for social media management show either examples of past work or at least offer up your personal accounts for review

  • What time zone do you live in? If I'm a podcast producer and need to get in touch with you about an emergency situation I need to know what hours I can contact you

  • What is your strategy or philosophy for doing the work you propose?

  • What are your rates? (If free how long will you offer that rate?)

  • What is your goal and/or what are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you to everyone posting, we look forward to reading about what you are doing to help podcasters!

All subreddit rules still apply. If you violate the subreddit rules your comment will be removed and your account can be given a temporary or permanent ban. Excessive or unreasonable requests for personal information in order to access the tool or service will also be treated as a rule violation.

Anyone else podcast not for views but to build reputation?

Upvotes

I started doing live, video podcasts (with audio split off and into syndication) about 2.5 years ago. Midway through we changed the name due to a conflict with Apple Podcasts with a defunct pod).

My goal is not to amass a huge audience - it is to provide potential clients with a deep library of content to decide for themselves if I know what I’m talking about. (35 year marketing strategist, agency owner).

It’s an interview podcast which I also use to prospect - I invite potential clients to be a guest. Now I’m doing guest spots (would like to do more) but I have found I really enjoy doing the program (we have about 125 episodes) - particularly live video.

I get regular sales pitches about how my video “isn’t getting many views…blah..blah…blah” but honestly - I don’t even care.

I use the podcast strategically for my business. Plus, it’s almost impossible to tell what your listenership really is because it’s spread out over many platforms.

Does anyone here do a podcast for this reason or is everyone just chasing subs?

How do you actually discover podcasts for collaboration?

I'm in the typical spot of trying to guest spot for exposure; but the process feels impossible. Podcasts are either:

  1. Discontinued
  2. Aren't interview formats
  3. Extremely high profile and so unlikely to consider someone without a large audience / reputation.

I haven't found a directory of any kind where you can simply filter by date and listener count and have to thoroughly investigate each podcast 1-by-1, just to find one of these 3 issues.

I've tried Matchmaker and Podmatch; but I either get spam connections or am just offered a directory where I have the same filtering issues.

The guest exchange subreddit is great; but it's also not very popular and highly niche, so it's hard to find shared audiences. There are clearly tons of podcasts, but discovering them is the problem. I'm wondering how others are dealing with this frustration.

Thanks in advance.

Ideas for mytholgy podcast

Hi, podcasters!

Me and a friend want to start a podcast focused in mytholgy, legends, folklore of the world and even fantasy stuff (if it is related to myth, that is: we could talk about some characters from Hellboy because they are part from myths, but we will not spend an hour chitchatting about Spiderman or any superheroes and that because is not our goal).

I need tips and ideas not for the theme (as you can see, we have something very clear), but ideas on how to approach to that, and what we can talk about (apart from history of myths and legends, we will talk about fiction literature, comics, movies, video games, etc. that are linked to myths and legends), and ideas for sections.

We have a few ideas for that sections, like "Presentation of a myth/legend —be that an archetype, a plot story, an scenario, etc." and "That myth/legend in the pop culture" and well... our ideas for sections end here. And there is where I ask you for help.

What do you like to hear in a podcast of this kind?

PS. Don't worry about Engrish misspelling in my text, our podcast will be in our native language. :)

Thank you very much! :D

Have You Ever Repurposed Long Form Content as Medium Length Content?

Upvotes

I just had this idea, and I’m sure it’s not unique and never been seen before, but I’m curious if anyone here has tried it.

I have a video podcast that I put out episodes of once a week. It’s an interview show in which I talk to industry pros across the entertainment industry (VFX artists, animators etc.)

I upload to all the podcast platforms as well as YouTube. So I was thinking to clip segments of the podcast (8-12 min range) in which a specific topic is covered, and posting that as its own piece of content on YouTube.

The idea being 1) to be uploading more than once a week, but not having to commit to more than one episode a week 2) someone who comes across it can get value from this particular nugget without committing to an hour+ long episode

So my question has anyone here tried it? If yes how’d it go?

Bonus question: I upload new Episodes on Sundays. Let’s say I upload these videos on Wednesday. Do I upload a clip from that past weeks episode? Or a “teaser” of the episode coming up next?

Trouble with new laptop…

I have an audio-only podcast that I record and edit with Audacity. I recently got a new Dell laptop to replace my old HP, and in the newly installed Audacity on my new laptop my recordings aren’t recording clearly. It recognizes my USB mic, but the quality is as if I have a thick wool sock over my mic and two masks over my mouth. I’ve tried turning off enhancement in windows and doing a couple other adjustments in Audacity itself, and I just don’t know what the issue is. I’m not super tech savvy, so I’m hoping one of you can guide me!

I posted in the audacity subreddit with zero replies.

Sound Only In Left Air :(

I am hoping there is some magic I can do to fix it post recording lol. Any help/insight on this would be appreciated! Thanks!

Birthday podcast idea

I have an idea for a podcast, my plan is to call it the Happy Birthday Database. Each episode would be based around whatever day the podcast is released, and I would highlight five of that days Actors birthdays using IMDb. My co-host would pick another five Actors and highlight those. Then I'm thinking for the last segment, we would each pick out one movie or show from the birthday people and report back on the next episode. Interesting concept?

Name in The Title

I’m currently doing a rebrand of my show and I’m changing the name. It’s still using the main word in the title but it’s going to be one word. Do I add “with xyz name” after the title? I’m going to use a psuedoynm anyway. The title itself is one word and its self explanatory. Just curious on others thoughts about putting the host name in the title.

Podcast Falling out

Hello, I have a podcast that has been going on for almost 4 years, and it hit the fan in seconds. In the podcast, 5 friends played tabletop roleplaying games, told stories, and had fun. We didn't care about money, other people's likes and dislikes, we did it because it was fun... But in the past few months, everything changed. I won't delve into it, but our whole friend group was shattered, and no one is really on speaking terms. I started the podcast back when it was called something different, and I have been doing it solo for a long while now (Scheduling issues to meet up and record). My main question is, how did you get past what happened to try and start over again, but on your own? Or how do I try to do all the work and succeed?

Non native English speakers making English podcast?

Hi, podcasters!

I have in mind to start a podcast with a friend and we will do it in our native languages —Catalonian for sure and maybe Spanish too—, but I was thinking that if there are out there people making podcasts in English and how they manage it, because who knows if in a future we try to jump to English language.

I know a lot of youtubers that are not native English speakers making content in English, but maybe in the podcast world this thing works different.

Thank you very much!

Any niche missing in true crime podcasts?

Hello!

I’m an attorney who practices criminal law. In my spare time, like many of you, I like to sink into some true crime stories.

I was considering starting a podcast but know the true crime podcast market is already so flooded. However, I think with my experience, I could offer a different perspective.

So I guess I have a few questions: - is there a niche or area of true crime not yet explored by podcasts? - is there a category of true crime podcasts that you like best? - is there anything missing in certain podcasts that you’d want in an upcoming podcast

Finally, are there other than podcast routes i could go? Do you have any specific suggestions? I’ve considered trying to get into consulting (as a legal expert) with podcasts but not sure of the demand of that.

I have full time employment so just exploring this as potential part time hobby!

Ambient by sounds

Looking for tools I can use to add ambient sounds (like street noises, party/ club atmosphere, etc.) to set a specific scene in my recordings.

Something easy to use (AI?).

What do you recommend?

Content Equipment Questions

set up - I want to be able to use lav OR boomed microphones. The podcast will have half live action(mechanicswork/playing pool), and half traditional(couch/table). Also multiple camera angles will be used regardless of audio setup, editing will be required.

Q:
What kit will include a "multi(4) channel recorder/interface/mixer" and mics, is it stand-alone or do i need a computer/iosandroid device?

A:

Q:
which is a better purchase, lav or cart/omni mic/mixer kit, and then supplement with the other mics?

A:

Q:
do these audio components connect with my camera as a complex audio/video file or do the individual channels have to be edited and timed/muted with the video file in a vfx level software?

Q:
in a setup where there are 1 or 2 lav mics and 2 to 3 table mics(max 4 at a time) is the current audio-interface/mixer-recorder suggested able to work without adapters?

Advice for a podcast

Hey there! Brand new to this and looking for some advice. I was looking to run a d&d podcast for 6 people with myself included in the count. The 5 of them would all be remote and separate from each other and me.

So I suppose my questions here are

What's a good program for recording that style ? Riverside, zencastr?

Equipment wise I'll need a recorder , a mic and headphones ?

I was looking at the podtrak p4 connected via USB to the MacBook to record their input over the Internet and connecting my mic to the XLR input for local recording

Mic wise I was looking at the rode pod mic?

Headphones for monitoring any advice ?

The last question is sound proofing or offsetting reverb the best I can ? I was thinking of honestly clearing out a niche in my closet leaving all the clothes in there putting a blanket on the walls and door and let it whirl?

Appreciate any advice.

Cheap/affordable mics for group of four? Or is there a software that could fix a multiple mic issue?

Hi all, very new to podcasting and in the midst of research. We are a group of four looking to start podcasting and we've hit a snag in the complications of multiple mics as it's an apparent problem when syncing multiple voices in the same room.

Could anyone give us a rundown of what we need or any advice for this? Greatly appreciated

Brand new to the podcast world

Hi all. I am about to enter the podcast world. A world in which I have absolutely zero experience. I am not super tech savvy beyond basic phone usage and general laptop use (email, word, etc).

I’ve read about varying podcasting apps. All seem to have pros and cons for beginners and I do t feel like I’ve made any real progress. Are there any really god apps out there that are great for recording, editing, uploading and managing for a tech illiterate person?

Help fixing skipping audio

I recently did an interview, and for some reason, the way it was recorded makes it sound like there's these micro skips throughout. Wondering if there's an AI program I can put it through that will smooth it out. It's supposed to by synced with the video, but my main concern is just having useable audio to use in the edit. Any advice would be much appreciated. I need to send them a rough edit today.

New podcast with the same name as min

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice really. I've just found out there is a brand new podcast which has the exact same name as mine. I've been doing mine for nearly 2 years, they have one episode. I don't mean to sound petty but is there anything I should/could do re getting them to change their name or just leave it as is? Don't want mine to get confused with theirs! Thanks.
