Everyone saying this would be illegal needs to consider that the tariffs and everything else Trump does is illegal. His presidency itself violates the constitution's prohibition on insurrectionists holding office. He violates the Emolumnents clause daily. He illegally extorts allies. He's deporting people illegally. He's holding critics without charge. His administration distributes war plans to random people. Trump himself violated the Espionage Act. Don't talk to me about the legality of CA trading with other countries directly. Geez.
