In response, White House spokesperson Kush Desai told Fox News: "Gavin Newsom should focus on out-of-control homelessness, crime, regulations, and unaffordability in California instead of trying his hand at international dealmaking."

Seems like that's exactly what he's doing by trying to circumvent inflation.

It's always a jab with this administration eh?

They can't just say "we're looking into this and will discuss matters with the governor"

Right, they're always so negative.

Always pickin' a fight. The poor young generation in this country that have never seen normal politics must think this is normal.

It's disgusting and immoral.

I'm sure this has been a wake-up call for many Americans. We needto change how politics work, full stop.

The poor young generation in this country that have never seen normal politics must think this is normal.

As a millenial who grew up looking at calmer politics as the norm, it's genuinely a bit disturbing to think about how long Trump has been at the forefront of American politics and how many young folk see that as the only form of US politics they've ever known.

Like, he feels like such an aberration on so many levels, it's uncomfortable thinking about how there's an entire generation (or two, with Gen Alpha) that see that as the norm.

according to my wife, who is a teacher, yes....yes kids are absolutly acting out more but I think it is a combination of Social Media influencers acting crazy in videos, the trending videos of entitled people acting like karens/kardashians, and how politicans get away with what they get away with.

Always pickin' a fight.

Their campaign spokesman and current WH Comms director literally worked for UFC before Trumpland.

That's just how republicans have operated for a few decades now. Never arguing in good faith. Always petty. Always hypocritical. Always childish. Always deceitful. The party is full of immature assholes and they now have king immature asshole as president.

They were asked about a news article the other day and the White House referred to the news outlet as failing in their response. It's so childish.

Everything's failing now, thanks to Trump's stock market crash.

I'm assuming it's New York Times because they really can't say that paper without putting failing in the front

Actually if it's the incident I'm thinking of, it was The Atlantic... which has been around since like 1850.

3

u/drawkward101 11h ago

But they're mad at The Atlantic right now because their morons accidentally put the editor in chief into a secret Signal group chat, which was totally Jeff's fault.

It’s any news organization that says anything critical of Trump.

If you've got a whatabout in your arsenal, you're damn well gonna use it!

What's that lawyer saying?

"If you have the facts on your side, pound the whataboutism. If you have the law on your side, pound the whataboutism. If you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the whataboutism."

It’s been like that aince Benghazi. You’re not arguing with people they’re retaliation bots with preprogrammed responses.

Even with the Signal chat, Vance couldn't keep Biden's name out of his mouth for just that brief instance. They have no idea how to attempt to run the country on their own merits.

It's because they are not discussing things with the governor. They're not here to govern, they're here to get interns to hand them AI-written dictats and grift.

Weak men are always obsessed with looking strong. That’s why they jab instead of coming from a position of humility and good faith.

2

u/landofthebeez 15h ago

It's the internet's "Got em." mentality.

Doesn't even matter if they're right as long as it sounds like they're "Pwning noobs"

Because they don't actually know or care about almost anything. They get their briefings from fox news and Twitter.

u/spyguy318 11h ago

That’s the playbook, never run defense. Always attack, attack, attack.

u/Willem_Dafuq 9h ago

I’m in total agreement with California, but yeah they’re gonna say what they’re gonna say. Of course they’re gonna jab. Roles reversed so would we.

u/SimpleAsEndOf 5h ago

It's always a jab

Yes, Fascists use DARVO all the time.

Yeah, because dems are always so courteous to Republicans, obviously.
