Trump is going to launch a trade war against California in the next few days.

This is turning into a real cluster fuck. California big tech now has to figure out the absolute labyrinth of differing tariffs from the vast number of countries they import products and components from, and now they potentially in addition have to deal with a different set of negotiations and rates negotiated by California -- and potentially, in turn, a subsequent array of controls to be implemented by Trump in retaliation for those secondary efforts by California to try to quell the effects of the initial round.

Just proof of more stable genius 4D chess by the Big T!

I think the tech companies would prefer to not have the tariffs in California and have to deal with it. Vs paying the tariffs. Although a lot of tech isn’t importing or exporting anyway. They’re entirely online and service companies.

Something trump forgot with the whole “they’re taking advantage of us” is that all these places including Europe import way more service based stuff. And it completely offsets the trade deficit.

Generally office jobs are higher paid than factory jobs. So by fucking the economy trump is trading higher paid jobs for lower ones. They aren’t likely to materialize quickly. Or maybe never at all because companies will assume trump will be out in 4 years and the next president will undo it.
