Considering how much agriculture and manufacturing actually come out of California, this would have a substantial impact on the rest of the US. The California gdp is as much as in the top 5 gdp's in the world.

Sadly, this exactly has been the goal of the USSR and now Russia for decades and decades, and us Americans are asking for it now willingly. Russia has masterfully finished and won the Cold War for the Soviet Union all these years later. Fucking masterful. Shame.
