He's fucking right. They'd be blowing the damn roof off the place if anyone else was pulling this bullshit.

And they’d be right to. The question is why are Democrats so quiet?

Are the Democrats quiet? Many of them should definitely be stepping up and doing more, but don't discount people like Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Cory Booker.

Not to mention, this article is literally about a Democrat (albeit not one in Congress) speaking out.

Several dems are marching with us/speaking in Philly tomorrow. I'm seeing this echoed at other rally's too.

Bernie Sanders is one of the USA's most notable Independents. Your first example of a good Democrat is literally not a Democrat. He often runs in their primaries but is not a member of the party and has never served in office as one.

Bernie and AOC are hardly Democrats, and that’s the problem. If Democrats wanted to make some noise, they would have put AOC in charge of the Oversight committee instead of voting for some old geezer that Pelosi told them to.

Instead, they’re standing there hat in hand saying, “gee wiz, I would have never been allowed to do [what Democrats are letting Republicans do]”.

And so the question remains.

Ok so you're just gonna ignore Booker?

Exception proves the rule. We only need a thousand more of that for it to begin to count.

The Democrats are in the minority they aren't putting anyone in charge of any committee. AOC wouldn't be doing anything more than what Connoly is doing as Ranking Member.

Someone is in charge of the democrats on the committee. It’s some old geezer that no one’s ever heard of except for Pelosi. Don’t deflect from that, it makes you look like you’re not a serious person.

I am pretty sure plenty of Democrats in Congress besides Pelosi have heard Connolly before he was made Ranking Member. He has also constantly gotten more votes in his elections than AOC has gotten in hers.

Maybe because this is what the country voted for? The fuck are they supposed to do? Anyone with a functioning brain knows this is a ghastly, grievous error and massive overstepping of the checks and balances on our government.

People voted with hate and spite, to check people's genitals, and because they're sick of seeing gay people on their television shows - here we are.

You can't use logic and reason as a counter to prideful, arrogant, willful stupidity and hatred. A good % of these people have some form of oppositional defiance disorder (including their politicians, like MTG) and will decry any words not coming from 'approved mouthpieces' as woke / commie / lib nonsense. That includes scientific sources, experts, doctors, economists, all manner of intelligent professionals. It's all pseudoscience, snake oil, and alternative facts from here baby, all the way down. American Exceptionalism has been revealed to be American ignorance and essentially Carl Sagan's worst nightmare made manifest.

I can imagine many democrat politicians are simply tired and weary from having to combat waves arms whatever the right turned itself into, and the unending stream of nonsense spewing from the mouths of the people who voted for them.

Edit: I realize this is quite a negative accounting of things, the one mote of optimism I have at the moment is the sheer fact that they absolutely fucking own all of this from here on out. Although they’ll try, there’s no hiding or blaming Democrats this time. It’s all on them. When their own constituents are hurting, at least some of them may finally start to wake the fuck up. Cult deprogramming is a difficult and lengthy process, but I damn well think dear leader has strayed far enough from the reservation to finally make a difference. It’s their mess, the first step is seeing some pushback from all of them, and their politicians finally going, “okay, enough winning.”

Essentially, your move 🤷‍♂️. Long shot, perhaps, but it’s a shot at least.

The fuck are they supposed to do?

This is a great post. You hit the nail on the head. I was talking with my Californian uncle about this last week and he literally did the "waves arms and throws up hands" move in total disbelief of the ridiculousness of the situation. This is the first time in 40 years he's talked about moving back to Canada.

Look at the comments from the progs of the party too, the don’t realize their ideas tanked the party and they are still bitching like it’s 2016 again and bernie will win any second if they just keep blaming the “dnc” or popular dems. I’m tired of talking to these people too, they are just trump supporters at heart.

What ideas "tanked the party?" Kamala being brown? If a tax on personal wealth over 100 million dollars is too far left for Americans, we are well-and-truly fucked.

They aren’t owning it though. The propaganda channels have already set in motion that the state of things is because of the Biden administration. That he and musk are working incredibly hard and that things would have been worse if the American hating Harris had won.

They also say that democrats are anti American and want to destroy the country.

They are embracing this administration and are already getting giddy at trying to get him a third term.

Something drastic needs to happen to correct the course.

Oh yes, they’re tired and weary because they’re fucking old as fuck and they just want to do their insider trading and retire in peace. That is definitely one of the reasons why they are so quiet.

(Almost) nobody represents us. I wish everyone could get their mind around that.

u/atomictyler 1d ago

Some of them are old, but the republicans have the same thing. Chuck Grassley is 90 years old! It's a tricky situation, because some of the older ones are brain dead, but there's others who are perfectly fine, Bernie Sanders being one of them.

u/BigBoyYuyuh 1d ago

You know…with the disaster happening now, was insider trading so bad then? lol

-2

u/Hettie933 1d ago

Definitely. And why Booker’s thing was a 100% performative simulacrum of protest.

2

u/BigBoyYuyuh 1d ago

Some are speaking up but also…not their chair, not their problem. Dumb asses voted them out of power so may they have the day they voted for.

1

u/Bozee3 1d ago

Cory Booker just stood and filibustered for over a day. Bernie and AOC have been holding rallies. We're commenting on a article about Obama and Kamala is also in the news not being quiet. At least some are a little bit talkative.

Cuz they’re morons
