No one is refusing to protest because they're worried about being killed. That isn't a thing yet at all. People are just demoralized. Trump explicitly campaigned on all the things he's now doing and won anyway, so there hasn't been much will to protest.

There are thousands of protests happening here. There’s atleast three or four in my city every week. There’s media here is not covering them most of the time.
