I saw someone say that this was Obama saying he wasn't treated fairly. That's not the point. The point he's making is that what's happening is unconscionable, illegal and unconstitutional no matter who does it. Forcing the right wing to consider how they would feel if Obama had done what is happening is an attempt to force them to reconcile what is actually happening with their limitless support for Trump.

I don’t think there is any other point he can make. Truth is pointless now. I’m losing any hope for this country. I feel like we’ve lost permanently.

I mean we're facing unstoppable structural change. The only thing left to be seen is what change.

The way I see it is best case scenario, fascists fumble the ball. They get more pushback than they planned for and don't lock us out of elections before midterms. We survive long enough to have elections again and the close call brings actual populist weight to codifying the things we thought existed before but were just "tradition". We can't go back to the malaise era of politics. If we get another shot it's either New Deal 2 or Civil War 2. Either way the structure of the US and the world is going to be a lot different going forward.

I'll do what I can and what I have to but for now I'm just focusing on my family, my community, mutual aid. No one is gonna save us, we have to save each other.
