I saw someone say that this was Obama saying he wasn't treated fairly. That's not the point. The point he's making is that what's happening is unconscionable, illegal and unconstitutional no matter who does it. Forcing the right wing to consider how they would feel if Obama had done what is happening is an attempt to force them to reconcile what is actually happening with their limitless support for Trump.

They literally can't comprehend the idea that Obama is concerned about the nation as a whole... because they frame every political event as "what's in it for me personally?"

Ayn Rand's ideology has had an enormous negative impact on our country.

Once again, every accusation is an admission. Cause you're exactly right: They think every politician is only in politics for personal gain because that's what they're used to from their own ranks. And sure, lots of people are in positions of power to gain some sort of personal gain, but I don't think it's incomprehensible to think that "A better future for future generations" counts as a form of personal gain. But yeah, they expect it to be money because that's what they and their own would do.
