Moderator Message Need Links/Phone Numbers/ Resources for crisis pregnancy centers and others akin
The sub needs to have resources so that women who are thinking about abortion, can use it to help them if they decide to keep the baby. If you have any resources link them here. We need recourses from all across the globe so if you’re in a different country it’s even better.

Moderator Message Pro Life Weekly Chat!
Good Wednesday Pro-Lifers! During these distressing times we can get very frustrated with ourselves, friends families and even society. Fret not, because this post is dedicated to you guys discussing a wide range of topics outside of abortions if you need too. Topics such as movies, sports, hobbies, current events or major events happening in the world and maybe even other politics if you choose too. This chat is your escape, to talk about other things as well and to further connect with other members of Pro-life. You are not restricted to any topics in the post, however follow Reddit's guidelines. Be nice, don’t spam, and have a good time. Since I am a bot this message will be repeated every Wednesday.

Things Pro-Choicers Say Someone posted a pro-choice "joke". It's completely stupid and unfunny.
To begin with, telling people what to do is completely valid when what they want to do is to murder someone else, which is the purpose of abortion. And the right to life is more important than bodily autonomy (and all other rights, did that matter).

Opinion Is there any goths who's prolife here?
I'm goth and I'm prolife to the T. I want to know if there's any (NOT JUST GOTH) goths/emo/alternative/metalheads who are like me and believe that abortion is murder so I don't feel alone, sorry!

Things Pro-Choicers Say Killing human lives in the womb is pro life ! 😝🤪
I’ve never seen a pro choicer make a good point on why abortion is ok. I’ve never seen a pro choicer who can debate without using bad faith tactics, or false equivalencies. They are like little robots chanting the same thing, over and over. This is by far the most idiotic sentence I’ve seen in my life.

Pro-Life General Did I do the right thing?
So, I have a good friend who is pretty openly liberal in her views, one of them being that she’s pro-choice. I’ve been hoping for natural opportunities to have discussions with her for a while, and the other day, one came up. She shared a video on her Instagram story - I don’t even remember what it was about exactly, but it brought up the “people who were raped being forced to carry a child” argument. I replied to her story with this polite message:
Abortion is not the solution to pregnancy as a result of rape. You don’t fix trauma and pain with more trauma and pain
I then said this:
I’m very passionately pro-life and would love to have a conversation about it with you sometime if you’re open
The next day, she replied with this:
I do not wish to have this conversation, but I hope it doesn't put a strain on our friendship
I told her I respected that and that I also didn’t want our different views to affect our friendship. There’s no issues between us, but I’m still not sure if I did the right thing by just letting it go. It’s a very important issue. Also, as a Christian, I know it could lead to a gospel conversation, which is also very important. At the same time, though, I don’t want to push her away.

Questions For Pro-Lifers What do you think is the most practical path to a federal abortion ban?
Trump instituting the Comstock Act could work but I do think it'd cause a lot of issues given those tools are used in medically necessary early deliveries and non abortion procedures.
In terms of Congress, I put that at medium likelihood. My opinion, which could be totally wrong is that they'll get the votes in the House but the Senate will be tough imo.
Based off what I've listened to from prolifers, the third is probably something 14th Amendment related though I'm not familiar enough with the argument to speak.
If I was a prolifer, I'd probably prefer #2 but I wonder what actual prolifers think.

Things Pro-Choicers Say The moment that truly shattered all pro-abortion talking points for me
The moment that truly shattered the illusions of all pro-abortion talking points for me was Michelle William's golden globe speech. It really cannot be understated how utterly grotesque this "incident" was.
for those whoa re unfamiliar with it:
She begins the speech right of the bat by proclaiming that women should operate on a basis of "self interest", which is its self a pretty obvious ethical lapse, and then she goes on to state that all men do the same thing anyway in an attempt justify unethical behaviour while also encouraging inter-gender hatred and bigotry. (gee whiz, I thought the pro-choice crowd were supposed to be the bigots who just hate the opposite sex?)
of course the crowning moment then comes, after proclaiming the virtues of nihilistic self interest and her animosity against the opposite sex, when she then goes on to say that she would not have have gotten her golden globe award if she didn't get to terminate her children who may have held back her career
this was when the mask truly slips off. she establishes by her own addition, which she gives absolutely swelling with pride, that she ended the lives of her children for a golden trinket, an ego stroke, and some money, under the guidance of pure nihilistic self interest.
this of course could have been hand waved away as one bad apple, but the near universal support she received from the pro abortion crowd sealed the deal. this wasn't an isolated case, this is how these people actually think and feel and operate. Its all game to them, and their children are just pieces on the board to sacrifice for their self interest. or obstacles to be eliminated, standing between them and the fulfillment of their egos and material desires
from this moment onward, all the pro abortion moralizing and apologia just falls flat to me. its all just misdirection and illusion to cloak pure nihilistic self interest.

Pro-Life General I was left pregnant, need advice
I'm not too sure where to start but I need a lot of prayer and advice right now. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant. I (21F) myself was raised a non-denominational Christian. My partner (ex-partner) is Serbian Eastern Orthodox (21M). We are both students at university and live at home.
We were together for 9 months in a serious relationship and engaged in pre-marital sex. We agreed before having sex that in the event I end up pregnant we would stay together, marry and have more kids. For the last three months of knowing about the pregnancy, all we have discussed is this plan. He accompanied me to multiple ultrasounds and we were happy but scared about starting our lives together even if earlier than planned.
We initially discussed waiting to tell both our parents until we were ready. This last week I had to unexpectedly tell my parents I am pregnant. It was horrible timing, my partner and I were fighting and both said bad things to each other. I told him my parents knew as soon as I saw him later that day.
My parent's reaction, as Christians, was this: Everything will be ok. My partner and I need to marry before the baby is born and they will support us in any was possible for him to finish university, find a job and a house to live in. They were even saying he can live with us for as long as he needs to.
The day after I told him we were stupidly continuing our argument but as the day progressed we calmed down and agreed to stay together like we planned. My partner agreed this and he was adamant on finishing his degree (one year left) which I also agree with whole-heartedly. He also told me this was too soon to marry to which I was upset because we both agreed that having children out of wedlock is wrong.
He went home that night and told his parents. His parent's reaction, as Orthodox Christians, was this: They think I am trying to baby trap him, that me and my family must have planned this (my birth control failed). His parents told him that the baby might not even be his (it is 100% only possible to be his, and he knows I never cheated) and that they want a DNA test (only possible here after the baby is born). His parents urged him to breakup with me and leave me pregnant. They said the best case scenario would be that I get an abortion.
So he called me the next day, told me all of this and said we can't be together and that he doesn't see himself marrying me. I do not understand how his family who is devoutly religious could ever say such things, and especially say I should kill our child? Who is also their first grandchild.
I do not want to get an abortion, but I absolutely cannot raise this baby alone. I have no degree (not even close to finishing), no prospects and my parents are not wealthy by any means. I have tried talking to him outside of this but he keeps coming back to the one thing which is that he can't see a future with me because he can't see himself marrying me. I know his parents talked this into him and I know if they had said what my parents said then that is what would be happening right now.
My family thinks it is a terrible idea for me to turn up and talk to his parents, and I agree because they will most likely be aggressive and tell me to leave. Should I talk to the father from their church? My parents say they will make up lies and tell everyone I am a whore and that it isn't my partner's child.
I don't understand how these people can tell their son to abandon their child and the mother of his child, and that the best option for everyone would be if I killed our baby. Please help, I don't know what to do. I want to save my baby.
Edit: I have now talked to the priest at his church who agrees that his and his parents actions are deplorable. He will be talking to him in a couple days but he has said that his family does not attend regularly they could tell him to back off but that he will do his best. I don't have much faith he will come around anytime soon but I know he will regret this for the rest of his life. He has also messaged me after days saying that he does not love me anymore and does not want to be with me, something he started saying right after his parents talked to him. I have no doubt they're actively squashing any feelings he has for me and the baby out of him. But still, if he wanted to choose us, he could.

Questions For Pro-Lifers How do you go about explaining how bodily autonomy rights do NOT apply to natural biological processes?
The bodily autonomy defense hinges on the idea that consent applies to everything, even NATURAL BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES like intercourse and human reproduction.
What are some comebacks to this that refute this mindset?

Evidence/Statistics JAMA says that after Roe v. Wade was overturned, young women's mental health got worse. The raw data doesn't show that.
If anything, these charts show that abortion bans improve women's mental health, while wokism makes them miserable. However, correlation does not equal causation.
It angers me that the media reported the JAMA study on the first slide as good science when they didn't even post their raw data.

Things Pro-Choicers Say Does Anyone Know of People Who Have Shifted from Pro-Life to Pro-Choice?
I hope the flair is correct; there wasn’t one that really fit the question well.
I'm curious if there are any members here who know someone who originally held a Pro-Life position but has since changed to the Pro-Choiceers. The reason I'm asking is that I've heard many stories about people who have shifted the other way (e.g. Abby Johnson), but none that go in this direction.
I can't immediately think of a reason why someone would make such a shift, other than perhaps someone adopting a Pro-Life view due to trends or without deeper conviction, only to later find themselves in a situation where an unplanned pregnancy created a difficult problem.
I'd like to expand my perspective on this, as there may be viewpoints I haven't considered. After all, only by truly understanding the other side's perspective can one effectively help.
Edit: Thanks for the many answers. It looks like it's always the same story. Religiously raised people who lose their faith. But no one seems to have heard of someone who was genuinely Pro-Life out of deep conviction and then switched sides.

The question was, “why are me trying so hard to block reproductive rights”. This was an answer. The last paragraph made me feel sick. “She takes matters of life and death into her own hands” do you not see a problem with that?

Things Pro-Choicers Say Pro-choicers on the topic of foster care
It's just really funny to me as a former foster kid interacting with pro-choicers because they always want to portray pro-lifers as "not caring about foster kids" but the moment you try to move PCers away from using foster kids as political pawns in the abortion debate, their masks come off and suddenly they become super hostile towards foster kids.

March For Life March 25th marked the three-year anniversary of when Terrisa Bukovinac and Lauren Handy recovered the remains of 115 abortion victims in DC, including five babies aborted late in pregnancy.
Last week we joined Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising and SBA Pro-Life America to commemorate this anniversary and demand justice for these children.
Thank you to each of you who contributed to making this trip happen. Your contributions have covered 57% of expenses so far. If you'd like to help cover the remaining 43% (two nights of lodging, $290), please donate here: https://ow.ly/nyoG50VtYK8

Things Pro-Choicers Say And why exactly should pro-lifers specifically be against this?
It’s weird but it has nothing to do with abortion. Also fun fact: I was actually familiar with this case because I’ve been super interested in royalty lately and the son is a descendant of one of the kings of Spain.
