Where do you buy coffee beans for your espresso?

I believe our city has many coffee fans who prefer high quality coffee. What is your favorite place to get beans? Do you order online, visit a local QFC, or prefer a local coffee roaster?

Espresso Vivace. Pickup at their Seattle locations or by mail. Packages are dated so you never are sold stale beans. They also sell single origin bags as well. Makes amazing espresso.

Thanks, is Single Origin Club just a coffee of the week? It is interesting, that some shops have 20+ kinds of coffee beans, and this place has only two. Maybe it is a good thing?

The single origin rotates so you have a chance to try something new. Vivace's house beans are both fantastic. Vita blend is our favorite.

Additionally, Seattle Coffee gear locations do offer tastings on a variety of beans. They are great teachers on machine specs, roasting, grind etc. We have purchased machines and beans from them as well. The Kirkland location had a whole wall of beans for purchase.

Cafe Lusso is made in Redmond! We pick ours up at SoulFood Coffee and have them grind it for us at espresso consistency. Highly recommended!

IMO Cafe Lusso has/does the best coffee. Clearly a passion project for them.

I also recommend Cafe Lusso. I have a monthly order from them. You can pick them up at the roastery in Redmond near Postdoc or you can have them delivered. It’s cheaper and fresher roast than buying them from local coffee shops which I was doing until I looked into it.

I'm a bit surprised by the work hours of Cafe Lusso. It’s hard to go there after work. 😆

sorry, can I buy Cafe Lusso beans in SoulFood Coffee, or did I misunderstand you?

Thanks! I've checked photos of SoulFood Coffee on google reviews, and it wasn't clear, what can I buy there.

My family loves Cafe Vita! We get huge bags from Costco for a good price

Big fan of Mulkiteo roast, you can find it at QFC

My husband gets the bag of Caffe Vita beans from Costco to make his espresso shots. They come with the date stamped on them so you can tell how fresh they are too.

Not in Redmond, but Seattle Coffee Gear in Kirkland has a good selection of single origin beans (plus lots of other coffee related equipment)

(That's for my drip coffee; believe they also have espresso beans)

aren’t espresso and drip made from the same beans? I didn’t think there was a difference

I have a subscription with Fundamental coffee and my beans were roasted last week! Fresh matters! Grocery store coffee is rarely dated.

I really like the Caffe D’arte beans. You can pick them up at their Seattle stores or order them online.

What are you using your beans for? For espresso, we always go to Farine for fresh beans from cafe Umbria (the Italian espresso roast) Five stones also has some fun beans.

Trader Joe's has some pretty good small batch bags of beans, I'm currently using their campfire med/dark for $9 for 12oz. Stumptown can be found at qfc and if my personal favorite of you're willing to spend like $18.

River trail roasters is also a nice small cafe and bean seller across from the Redmond Town Hall.

Lighthouse Roasters. They are local and my husband, who's a big espresso snob, thinks they have the best beans. And he's tried A LOT. Don't know if you can buy in person, though.

I go to Vivace, either on Capitol Hill or in SLU. So smooth, and not burnt or acidic.

Do you order them online, or visit their shop?

I typically buy it from Kirkland location weekly, I live nearby. My friend lives in bothell and orders online

They also sell it at QFC but ofcourse might not be freshly roasted

Tradecoffee subscription, also check Costco, from time to time they have really good beans freshly roasted, I really enjoyed Fidalgo beans I found there.

How fresh are these beans? Is there a roast date on the package?

Thanks for the info. I usually drink coffee without milk.
