OP Can't Solve Dragon or RPG themed riddle help!
Saw this riddle, was thinking phoenix is the answer, but apparently that wasn’t it. Any ideas? It’s from a small creator that makes rpg game content.

Smoke?

Not bad, but I don’t see how it fits the last line

If you're in a house on fire, you crawl to avoid smoke inhalation. No matter who you are. That's my take

I don’t see how it fits the bit about wings.

The shape of the smoke as it rises can resemble wings, but only within the atmosphere so touches the heavens but can’t touch the stars.

Discussion: We’ve been given a hint with the letter spacing that I posted in several other comments. Apparently the answer has to be something like “A dragon’s roar” or “A wizard’s tome”. The article “A” followed by a possessive 6 letter word, and a 4 letter word.

A Dragon's fire? possibly? But I have no clue how that fits with the ancient tongues.

Tongues of flame, I guess, but not a very satisfying fit if that’s right

A Dragon's Smog? Smoke really seems to fit everything. Smog is a stretch but is close to smoke.

A dragons keep or lair?
they're typically in caves which are rock or mountain, high in the sky but they'll never reach the stars above. Calling a place a home can make it one but it can't be chained since you can move. The keep itself hoards nothing the dragon does. And in typical fashion people seeking power from the dragon would typically kneel before entering as a sign of respect to gain favor with the dragon.
Or
A candles glow
it's born of fire but doesn't fear it, it reaches up with the flame but isn't going to light up the night sky, fire can be summoned by magic but not chained or bound it has no monetary value but is often used in rituals to gain power where people kneel before the candle

Discussion: I can’t edit the original post, but a hint has come out. The answer is formatted like “A _ _ _ _ _ _ ‘ _ _ _ _ _” For example “A dragon’s roar” would fit the spacing, but I don’t think that’s right.

Were you told it HAD to be a 6 letter and 4 letter word. Or just blank's blank

Just gonna spit out some fantasy-based nonsense and see if it spins anyone off in the right direction: A wizard’s bane, dragon’s song, savior‘s hymn, mother’s pain, raven’s doom, prince’s fate… or maybe it’s a hobbit’s or master’s ring
I honestly have no idea. Figured if I comment I can check back later for the answer.

>!A star's corona?!<
2
u/First-Monitor5884 3d ago
Discussion: Apparently it has to be 6 letters and an apostrophe S, and 4 letters for the second word. “A corona’s star” would fit better despite not making sense lol

It definitely feels like a reference to constellations, before you mentioned the lettering I thought for sure it was the Draco Constellation

I was thinking something related to the church or something religious. Maybe a church's book or something more generic a spirit's fire

A Cleric's Ankh? I'm kind of getting a religious vibe from it with the not hoarding worldly things and the kneeling.
Maybe a variation of the following: A Cleric's __ or a Bishop's___ and the stuff in the blank could be Song, Hymn, Oath?

A lizard's vape
More seriously, "ancient tongues" seems to hint dead languages, so constellations may be on the right track:
A ZODIAC'S SIGN perhaps

I've gamed it out, I think the answer has to be "a dragon's fire". Does not fear flame, has metaphorical "wings" and can go quite high but nowhere near stars. Ancient tongues, dragons are often thought to be ancient. Clearly cannot be bound. The fire does not hoard anything, and certainly anyone seeking power would kneel to the might of a dragon's breath.

Only part that bothers me is the first phrase, is Fire really "born of Fire"?
1
u/TopHatGirlInATuxedo 2d ago
It should more bother you that the word "fire" is already part of the riddle and unlikely to be in the answer.

Didnt ask you for your opinion. Come up with the answer or kindly pound sand.

Hi there, riddlers! Please remember to spoiler-tag all guesses and discussions of guesses, like so:
On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://i.imgur.com/SWHRR9M.jpg
On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants): >!guess or discussion between these symbols!< To be clear, that is
>!
(greater than, exclamation point) at the start and!<
(exclamation point, less than) at the end with no spaces around the!
. Avoid leading or trailing spaces. These will break the formatting for most people. Spoiler tags do not span paragraphs or line breaks. If your answer is long, please spoiler-tag each paragraph separately.Putting a link inside spoiler tags can be tricky, so just format the link like this, using the word "SPOILER" as the link text. On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants), do this to format a link: [SPOILER](https://example.com/) On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://imgur.com/x5wDOvk
If your top-level comment does not contain a guess, you can include either the word "discussion" or "question" instead of using a spoiler tag.
Please report any answers or discussions that are not properly spoiler-tagged.
