Neuroscience A low-cost tool accurately distinguishes neurotypical children from children with autism just by watching them copy the dance moves of an on-screen avatar for a minute. It can even tell autism from ADHD, conditions that commonly overlap.

but not exactly helpful unless all the other diagnostic criteria doctors use is somehow even less accurate.

Having more diagnostic methods/data allows for better use of Differential diagnosis. A result from this test might not confirm ASD, but instead definitively rule out something else when taken with the results of a different test
