For me it’s one of these classic steam tractors it’s said they have so much torque that they don’t stop moving forward even when towing super heavy loads.

Discussion How come my vehicles keep spinning out randomly?

I’ve noticed that at high speeds the trucks have a tendency to spin out and crash which is pretty annoying. For example, I have a mod which is a RAM 3500 that goes pretty fast. But anytime I actually get up to speed the wheels just forget traction exists at all. Is it just cause the game physics aren’t meant for super high speed? This has happened in semi’s as well.

Discussion The YAR 87 is… okay… What scout are you using for snow?

So after hearing a lot about the YAR 87, I figured I’d give it a try. I’m not looking to pull around any heavy trailers, I like using scouts for discovering watchtowers, getting upgrades, and just driving around. The YAR in (a very difficult to traverse) Urska River was moderately disappointing.. I expected more I guess in terms of deep mud and deep snow. I have the AM-4v 160 Engine, Mud tires, and the Freeway gearbox.

What is your go-to scout for just running around through the hard maps besides the Taratin and what is your setup on it?

Discussion This should really pause the game engine...

Post image

So, this happened to me again guys :(

context: Being a father of a 6m baby means your game session can will be interrupted at any moment. You handle the "emergency" (undetermined amount of time) then you can come back to where you were.

So there I was, in the freezing Amur delivering two loads of short logs, watching the beautiful sunrise while wondering why the Fisherman's House would do with 2 short and 1 medium logs. Anyway, I am summoned to a baby emergency, so I quickly hit start on the controller to "Pause" the game and off I go.

45 minutes later I am back, I hit continue and... the beautiful sunrise turned int a pitch black night and my truck run out of fuel. So now a delivery mission gets the added bonus of a rescue mission, like there wasn't enough tasks required for me to complete in Chernokamensk...

PS: Yes I know if I "return to main menu" it will save the game and prevent this from happening, but that also requires reloading the map when you come back, and sometimes it will take more time to load than the time you are away. I also know I can stop the truck engine manually before pressing start.

Just wondering if there was any 1 key/button way of really pausing the simulation.

After Snowrunner burnout i went back and tried Mudrunner again. I thought it would be outdated. But I was wrong! I forgot how good this game is. Struggling in the mud with deep mechanics puts you in a zen state.

Discussion What is the actual point of these small scouts?

Post image

Like genuinely, what reason would you have for using vehicles like this?

If you want to go exploring you'd use a large scout or a relatively quick and smaller sized truck as they have bigger wheels, more power and get through mud much faster.

These just get bogged down and stuck even with mud tyres

And why is there so many of them in the game?? They're just like the highway trucks, completely useless because there's many better alternatives to the job you'd think of using them for

Discussion You taking the STEP or Tayga? And why?

Post image

The Tayga is always getting a lot of attention but I don’t hear many mentions of the STEP 301E. Personally I’m taking the STEP. It’s more versatile with frame add ons, looks better IMO, interior is better if you ever like driving in first person. I’m sure others like the AWD/Diff lock always on with the Tayga but to me sometimes that can be a little dull. I enjoy shifting and finding the best gear for situations. More of a “manual” transmission feel. Both great trucks but which are you taking??

Discussion I'm trying too much to finish all contracts in a region before moving on. Still in Michigan just started 2 weeks ago and I love the game but I'm afraid I'll get burnt out if I try to finish everything. Do you guys switch regions often to avoid getting burnt out or do you have a different approach?
