All credit goes to /u/iBuzzKill for the tutorial

Alright, since I've gotten so much interest in my method of knowing when items restock/sell out in the webstore I've decided to make a little tutorial for everyone. I'm giving away my little secret to the reddit family so I hope some of you can put it to good use. Don't know if this is sidebar worthy but if it has the potential, mods let me know and I'll try to make it more professional.

Now before I get into the actual step by step tutorial, here's what my method can and cannot do.

Can:

  • notifies when a completely sold out item restocks (does not show the size though)
  • notifies when an item completely sells out. (like when they show the "sold out" text next to the item in the store.
  • Checks for updates every 5 seconds. (this can be changed to a longer time period between checks but I find 5 seconds is pretty ideal)

Cannot:

  • notify you when a single size restocks when other size(s) of the same item are still in stock.
  • notify you when a single size sells out when other size(s) of the same item are still in stock.
  • email you or notify you on a mobile device of any updates. (you must need to be on GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER)

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, if this tickles your fancy, read on ahead!

STEP 1: This method of checking is based in Google Chrome browser so if you don't have it yet, get it.

STEP 2: Alright, now that you have google chrome opened up follow these simple clicks: Settings>Extensions once you're at the extensions page, scroll all the way to the bottom and you'll see a button like this.

STEP 3: Once you click the button it'll take you to the download page where you can search for various extensions and add-ons to your Chrome browser. In the search box, search "Page Monitor" and you should find this extension. Go through the necessary steps to download it.

STEP 4: Once you have it downloaded, it will show in your extensions page. make sure it is enabled and then click on the "options" button to configure pages to monitor.

STEP 5: The webpage you should be monitoring is http://supremenewyork.com/shop/all so once you set that up, here is how I have my page monitor set up play around with it and configure it to your liking. The most important thing here is "Check Interval" this is basically the time period between update checks, having it at a low number like 5 seconds means that it will be constantly checking for updates on the page.

STEP 6: Now that you have gotten everything set up, how does it work? Well, first you need to know where to look when it notifies you for changes. There should be a button to the right of your url bar in your browser that looks like this.

STEP 7: You will know when there is an update to the page when you see a tiny green box with a 1 next to it. Shown here. So when you do see the green box, go ahead and click on it and click on "view changes". Shown here.

STEP 8: Clicking this should open a separate tab that resembles a plain version of the supreme page. What you want to do now is look to the bottom right and click on "text mode". Shown here.

STEP 9: you will be brought to a page that looks something like THIS. a long line of "sold out"s going vertical down. Notice the ones highlighted green and red. (This screen shot above was taken on a thursday after the drop so you can imagine how crazy it may look with new items added on and old items taken out) All you need to know is GREEN=SOLD OUT and RED=RESTOCK. So I'm assuming people will be mostly looking out for restocks so look out for the red. On the same page, hover your mouse pointer over one of the "sold out" links to see on the underbar what the item is. If there are multiple things highlighted red you want to check out DO NOT SIMPLY LEFT CLICK ON THE LINK this will take you away from the page and you won't be able to go back. I recommend opening it up in a new tab by right clicking.

STEP 10/FINAL STEP: Please click this link, then click "send" to show your gratitude for this tool

Phew. There you have it. My way of checking when restocks happen. It has worked well for me so far and I hope some of you can put it to good use for me. Any questions and comments feel free to let me know in the comments or by PM and I'll be happy to help.

Enjoy =)
