There was a gig i picked up to do a shed for this guys backyard. I just want to state that ive never built a shed of this size ever, but i still put my rate at $50 hr. The guy who hired me already had another guy working on it. It took us about 3 days to complete and keep in mind this was in the middle of summer so it was blazin hot and had to take numerous breaks cuz of how hot it was. Towards the end of the project , he told me how much he was getting per HR for the job( $27HR) which then he wanted to know how much i was getting. I felt bad so i never told him how much. Am i wrong for not mentioning anything or giving him a portion of what i got ? I never felt bad because THE contractor hired me for that rate so is it really my fault….

Hello this may sound strange but would I be able to hire a rabbit to hang up a large disco ball from the ceiling ? I know it sounds like I should do it myself but I don’t have a clue what to use to hang it or where to hang it correctly from Uk based

This is my first time using TaskRabbit. I need something heavy moved today and only two people were available same day, so I booked both of them.

One of them responded with my request simply asking me to text him. We talked via text a bit and he said he would only charge for an hour even though his TaskRabbit account says there is a two hour minimum.

Is it possible for him to only invoice for an hour, or is TaskRabbit going to hit me with a two hour charge anyway? I'm basically worried about getting scammed out of an extra hour of pay relative to our agreement.

As time goes on, I’m starting to feel like client expectations are becoming more and more unreasonable.

Just had a client reach out for indoor painting-

After asking a few questions to understand the scope of the job they said they’d like the job to stay within four hours and they’ll “finish up everything else”.

I let him know that the prep work (taping, covering cabinets & drop cloths) would take me roughly 2 hours leaving me two hours to begin painting.

Obviously, he said that he was gonna cancel for now and reach out in the future if needed.

Am I just inexperienced? I know taping is a time killer, but I’m not perfect at cutting in yet, and wouldn’t want to risk any mistakes or leave them a bad result.

I’ve been on Taskrabbit for 4-5 years now, and it seems like clients expectations are getting higher all while wanting the quickest work possible.

I did a job for a customer, TaskRabbit is telling me that his payment is declining, but the customer actually sent me his bank records. It’s been over a week and they keep telling me the same thing. Today they told me that they are elevating this to the appropriate team. It will take another 4-8 business days. So my next step is to call the Department of Labor. This was my first time using the platform and will be my last. Anyone know what to expect from this?

I want to purchase a 35$ purse through OfferUp from someone on the west coast, I’m on the east. The seller refuses to ship it and is pickup only. I’ve been on TaskRabbit trying to request someone to pick it up from her house and ship it to me, but it seems like no one wants to accept it. I’m wondering if this is unreasonable and I’m asking for the impossible. I just really want that bag and sadly can’t get it anywhere else.

Had a TaskRabbit come clean my place earlier today and the job was done really well. Super thorough and professional — I left a glowing review right after.

I liked the work so much I went to rebook literally right after they left, but the price for the exact same service had already gone up. Nothing changed on my end — same space, same cleaning request.

Is this normal on TaskRabbit? Do prices change that quickly, or do Taskers sometimes raise their rates after getting good reviews or repeat requests?

App has been weird last few days and can't get in touch with support. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I haven't had this issue for the past few months of using the app.

So last week I did a task for $65. It took right at about a hour. So the customer then states I'd like to make you my regular, but didn't want to use TR because he said he didn't like the extra fees TR gave him. I gave him my number and tried to build clientele off the app. So today he asked for the same task for 45. I said no my minimum is 65. Then he goes on to say it won't take more than 30 minutes. I explained to him my rates are my rates and for me to come all the way out there will take about 45-1 hr dealing with traffic isn't justifiable for $45. Was I in the wrong?

This is my first time using Taskrabbit. I hired someone to caulk gaps in my baseboards and around the cabinets. I just moved in to the apartment and the only furniture I have is a bed and a dresser. It is also a studio apartment. He is estimating the job will take around 2-3 hours and honestly just standing there and staring at him for 3 hours while he works seems…uncomfortable to say the least.

Am I allowed to leave? Or does that go against some kind of policy? I have no valuables there so I’m not really afraid of anything being stolen.

Hello everyone! I have a full time job and a part time (TaskRabbit) that I started last year. What form do I need to fill out in Nova Scotia for the taxes? Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Update: I talked to my accountant and was told that instead of filing it as self-employment I'll be better off with occasional earnings or other income, unless I'd make more than 5 grand a year. Otherwise, I would need to pay additional 12% on pension.

I get a 403 error when I even try to load taskrabbit.ca -- have tried direct links to login and they don't work either. Happens on my phone and on my computer, in different browsers, incognito, etc.

I'm looking for moving help - my new apartment is approximately 45 minutes drive away. I have rented a U-haul truck, and I only need help loading it at my current apartment and unloading it at the new apartment. Should I book 2 separate taskers for this - one for loading that's available around my area, and then another in the area that I'm moving to, or just one tasker who helps with loading apartment and unloading? Is there a possibility that I can extend the time of the tasker? It'll be my first time using TaskRabbit, so some advice would be helpful.

Hi if you clean/ organize please let me know how you feel about any of these questions.

1. Do you mind if we stay in the apartment/house while you clean? I always try and stay in a different room but in case questions come up or you need anything is it helpful if we’re nearby or more annoying?

2. Do you want us to “pick up” before hand? Some people clean before the cleaner arrives but if you have no time limit does it matter?

3. Do you mind like folding and organizing even if it costs more and we put that in the description of the task?

In Uk many taskers were not paying taxes. In a last few years the app was full of taskers on benefits and taking cash feom clients, i dont say all but many did. If its cash its untaxed. Now Uk HM office is after gig economy workers. Uber to start with. They look for illegql workers and those not paying taxes. Enjoy your day guys, be happy :-)

Hey! I’m new to this app and I am in the process of signing up to be a Tasker. I’m to the $25 fee part and just want to make sure I will make my money back. Things are really really tight right now. Mom of 3 just left abuser and have nothing to my name and literally homeless. I need any money I can make right now. I’ve seen mixed reviews on previous post. I am near Salt Lake City Utah.

I tried looking in the automotive category but it seems rather empty but I live in Columbia Maryland and I was looking to see if anyone would be able to go over a car audio job my friend help me with they told me that they knew what they were doing but I am incredibly apprehensive about the system. I predominantly need before speakers and subwoofer parallel wired to the amp and just check over all the wiring and grounding.

Hi, I can’t get a tasker for this job and must be doing something wrong. I selected general mounting and kept getting taskers matched and then unmatched, and one cancelled the job somehow altogether. Then I tried it as installing rods and shelves. Same people got matched and unmatched. What category should I select for this or is it just too dangerous that no one wants it for the Taskrabbit pre-selected pay rate? I miss the old system where people could set their rate and I could pick people to make sure they have a freaking ladder.

Update: Super weird. Even though I got a text saying no one could be assigned to my job, the first guy who matched and unmatched showed up on time for the job and still had me in his list. Thankfully I was here. He had the right ladder and tools, did an excellent job. Tipped well and got his number so I never have to deal with TR again.

Getting minor cataract surgery. Seems Kaiser is just interested in having a person be there at discharge to receive instructions. They may want to verify at check in. Anyone hire someone for this ?

I was going to get a taker to pick up an item and ship it to me and the cheapest rate is $30 an hour? Am I missing something?
