As another user pointed out, Biden could have done something about this in the four years that he’s been in office.

But he does agree with it. This had bipartisan support. Yet now both Biden and Trump are worried about the blowback and Trump will play hero restoring it. It should stay banned like every American app is understandably banned in China.
