It used to be great for transfer rumors and practice notes for the soccer teams I follow. Basically stuff that wasn't deemed worthy of an actual article. I just had a list called soccer and only read tweets from that so I almost never saw any of the downsides most people complain about.
Thankfully most of the people I followed from that list have since moved over to Blue Sky so I can still get that info.
Got mine back in 2009 to follow “Texts From Last Night” but it’s terrible now. Not hard to understand why people are addicted to it, just like most “people” on Reddit are addicted to all the nonsense going on here.
There's really nothing else quite as good for getting very niche news. I don't get why people are so mad about what they are seeing. It's up to you to choose the exact list of who you follow. I have local organizations specific to my town. The best sports reporters for my list of local and college teams to match my exact interests. I have programming people that I follow professionally. I have comedians I enjoy. It's great.
Is that including not viewing in a web browser X posts of others you hear about that were reported in the news or such? Kind of sounds like it but seems odd if the case.

That’s ok. I blocked X from my life.
