I knew it. Reddit’s new extreme moderation policies took effect the very next day after Musk publicly complained about r/whitepeopletwitter. I knew Musk was behind it. Reddit is not the same now.

I've got nothing to prove it but my vibes but honest to got Reddit started going downhill after the API changes that shut down third party apps and lots of useful bots. And has been going downhill ever since.

Reddit admins are goons. Anybody who has had “interaction” with them (they hide behind curtains in their communications and decisions) knows this much is true.

I'd say right around those white girls were beheaded in another country and videos of them popped up on Reddit, nuking subs and even permanently deleting them. This went from news subs to death subs. Now there's only drug cartel killing subs left and those are brutal.

There seems to be a lot more shadowbanning of comments too. Put your username into www.reveddit.com and see just how many of your comments went poof. Here's a direct link to your results. 6 of your comments removed just today... You should can still see them on your profile, but not when logged out (I'd suggest opening the links in Incognito to show the nothingness other people see).

I'm not even sure if this comment will go through. I tried to mention reveddit on r/politics and automod must have that name blacklisted.

Well I just checked and 95% of the shadowbanned comments (total of 17 as of this message) have no reason to be shadowbanned lol

Wow, that's pretty wild to look at.

I feel like if Reddit banned anti Musk posts, it would lead to a 25% drop in traffic, lol.

If that's the case then why is r/cyberstuck still up and running? That sub instigates and encourages the vandalism of Tesla cars. And it's #2 in it's reddit category.

Because they're not threatening to kill anyone.

This is what everyone whining about this doesn't understand, all this increased moderation is their own fault. They can talk shit about Musk as much as they want, just stop threatening to kill him. They're sending death threats to him and everyone around him and then getting shocked when they get banned for it. The users/subs that are behaving are absolutely fine.

Totally agree. I already knew it could be lame and stupid, but 2025 absolutely solidified just how fuckin dumb reddit is for me. 😂😂

And of course spez came running to censor and obstruct the truth just like when he tried to hide all the cp on this site before the IPO

This dude was the head moderator of a million+ follower truly nasty, possibly underage, and definitely not verified porn subreddit. And the only reason he finally got rid of it was for his stock value. He's of the same ilk as Musk, just not nearly as successful

It's been a long slow fall since long before that event, but with no alternative the monthly users keeps increasing regardless.

What moderation policies are you talking about?

I agree. Alot of my news story's about Trump and musk would get removed for keeping the community safe and civil. Then I got perma banned from the news sub without any warning or anything. I asked the mods why, but 4 months later, they still haven't replied.

I also tried posting this story on politics, but it was automatically removed. I even tried a few other news subs, but it would also get automatically removed....

I noticed I started getting hounded for adding more mods which was weird.

Reddit hasn’t been the same since non-tech worker tourists invaded after Digg, sadly.

Hopefully the death threats and extremism tone down.
