Been wanting one of these for years. I’ve always been a Strat guy but these pickups blow away my ‘03 American Strat’s.

Picked up this abused girl for $100. It’s got a decent neck and a solid body with a battered finish. Bridge pickup needs a little repair, body needs a refinish, neck needs a little fret work. I’ve got it gutted so I’ll likely replace the switch and rewire with vintage pushback just because I want to. I’m thinking I’ll paint the headstock to match the body and put my logo on it. In a Silver is where my mind is at the moment - with a black pickguard.

NGD for me! Ordered from Thomann in Germany, and shipping to Canada took about 1 week. Very little duty and really only GST taxes were a touch extra.
The neck feels thin and smooth. Frets were perfect! Setup out of the box was fantastic, which really surprised me for a budget guitar. Only really needed to adjust action a touch as well as neck pickup height. The bridge pickup is grungy as heck, which is why I wanted this.
I wish the light would have behaved, as the colour in the sunlight is where this beauty really shines! I will definitely order from Thomann again and would not hesitate to get another Harley Benton!

I’ve been looking for a new tele under $1500. I want the classic butterscotch blonde because it would be my first tele, but those are either in the player or below range or Professional $1800+ range. Any other colors or models you prefer?

Cracked off my pickguard for the first time. Figured I’d see a humbucker routing but what are those three holes? That can’t be standard. Not that I’d know. The larger of the three appears to be pre finish and the smaller two post finish.

TLDR: I got an XPG tele style neck used on Reverb for $100, put it on my partscaster, and it was a massive improvement, BUT there's a gap on one side of the neck where it attaches to the body. Any advice?
Hi all,
This is my ongoing partscaster project-- started as one of those cheap Amazon build-a-guitar DIY kits (I think it was around $100, gift from my dad, who died last year, he was a skilled wood-working hobbyist so it was something we talked about a lot, so it's sentimental, etc.). Once I put some Fender Noiseless pickups in it, the only original piece will be the body.
I bought a used XPG neck on Reverb, which came to $90 with shipping and taxes, installed it last night, and now this guitar has better intonation than my $899 MSRP D'Angelico I bought new last year and have been trying to set up properly ever since. The only playability issue is a little buzzing around frets 7-9 on the higher strings, which adjusting the neck relief or action doesn't seem to help. On further investigation I've observed a gap between the neck and body on one side (the side where the higher strings are, where the buzzing mostly is), and I cannot tighten it any more without stripping the neck screws. Any ideas of what might be goin on here?
Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks tele fam.

Call me crazy but I’d never exactly fallen in love with a Fender guitar. That changed when I brought one of my guitars to a local shop for some work, and couldn’t stop eying this guy in the corner. Had to come back for it! I’m having a lot of fun familiarizing myself with that classic tele tone.

After a decade of procrastinating, replaced the neck pickup of my Chris Shiflett signature Tele Deluxe with a Phat Cat P90 Silencer pickup.

I’m really stoked on this one. “Honey Bee Yellow” I assume JD indicates Japanese Domestic? I saw it and couldn’t stop thinking about it for two days, made a deal and here it is.
Found a thread from a year back on one of these, one of y’all trade it in?

Hi everyone, 1st post :) Just got my 1st proper Tele. Loving it! Fender Baja. Next to it is my LTD TE-212 with custom Planet Tone pickups. I’ve avoided Teles for decades but I’ve seen the light.

Hola a tod@s

A partscaster build!
Got this 1981 fender custom shop, collectors edition, black ash body for a steal! Had an epoxy fill in a bad neck route, but chiseled it out, to fit in a humbucker. Put in a Fender American Stratocaster neck from my first Strat I bought in 2012.
Put a compensated Wilkinson bridge, old gotoh Gibson tuners, a Bareknuckle black dog neck pickup, and a fender custom 62 bridge pickup.
Had all the parts but the body, and surprisingly, this is how my best sounds axe. 🎸

Back in 2003 I started making, selling and repairing guitars. I found this one the other day, a while after it had sold, and had I been aware I would have bought it.

I got this sweet Korean Lite Ash from 04 for a great price. Have only had one as a partscatser before but really like the neck and specs. Definitely not ”light” ash though. The markings on the neck are not dirt snd overall condition is amazing, I think it actually came like this. The placement of the spots seem to correspond with most played spots though, which is strange.
