Hubs, controllers, radios?
 in  r/homeassistant  Aug 15 '24

That is all I use. About 30 devices connected to it.

What are these things found discarded on the ground near a very tall radio tower? Can they be repurposed?
 in  r/amateurradio  Aug 15 '24

“Flexihopper” very much obsolete TDMA microwave. 34Mbps over the air from memory. This one looks to have a 4 x 2Mbps PDH interface card installed on the left. The 10baset port was for management not traffic. The other Ethernet ports are RS422 management ports. The coax connectors on the right are for connecting the out door unit.

I have one of those gimmicky “remove before flight” key rings that I attach to my bag when I put tools in there. Haven’t lost a tool since…

Bent beam on CRT oscilloscope
 in  r/AskElectronics  Aug 22 '23

Does it have a degauss function? Something next to it may be producing/ have a permanent magnetic field that is deflecting the beam?

My X1 Nano gen2 exhibited similar behaviour. Setting it to ‘linux S3’ in the Bios sleep settings solved it for me.

Xbox controller bumper switch replacement gone wrong
 in  r/AskElectronics  Aug 30 '22

Scrap off a little solder mask on the traces going to the damaged (missing) pads and use fine wire to solder to the traces and bridge them to the switch leads.

It looks like it is still repairable. You will definitely need finer tools than what you have. Maybe your friend with the solder wick?

BNC Adapter or BNC Antenna?
 in  r/amateurradio  Aug 28 '22

Adapters are also a good way to stop/ slow the expensive bits from wearing out. I would buy an antenna with a threaded connection so you get a solid connection with your BNC adapter.

I ordered a soldering project from Wish.com to learn on. There's an empty spot for power, but they didn't include a part to put in there. What am I supposed to use? (They also shorted me an LED so I subbed in one I had on hand.)
 in  r/diyelectronics  Aug 14 '22

That looks set up to solder wires directly to the board. Pass the wire through the larger hole from the back. Loop it back and solder through the smaller hole. This is done to provide strain relief on the wires.

Starter is part of the housing. Some are replaceable…. Usually if the bulb lights then it is fine.
