Advice to Others Uncle Ben brans substitute

I’m seeing posts and comments that uncle Ben’s doesn’t work like it used to. What’s a better alternative?

The "Savvy Fare" brand from the green dollar store - is that Dollar Tree? I can never remember - worked well for me. Other people have said they had more success with it than with Uncle Bens. I think the Uncle Bens has a higher moisture content, which a lot of people think is part of the problem with it.

I got some of the Savvy Fare today. They were only $1.25 and apparently don’t contain salt. The daily percentage of sodium was 0.

I can't remember if it was the sodium content, or the overall moisture content that people said was an advantage of the Savvy Fare. I do want to say that I recall people complaining that UB bags were almost too wet a lot of the time. The sodium content does sound familiar though, now that you mention it. Regardless, I did alright with it. Good luck to you!
