We shouldn’t be mistaken about how devastating the free trade agreements of the 90s have been to workers, indigenous sovereignty, and the environment. Just cause Trump is upending it doesn’t make it good. It’s not that Trump’s protectionism is going to empower unions and environmental protections. He might be ending free-trade deals but only to further assert US-Corporate power.
