Turns out having access to all the world's knowledge in the palm of your hand doesn't make a difference if people can't tell the truth from fabrications.
This isnt an internet issue. Fake news has been an issue well before the internet. Anti-vaxxers have existed since vaccines have existed. Tabloids in the supermarket aisles (if you are older enough to have seen them). People in general have always struggled to figure out the truth vs fabrications. The internet now lets people confirm their false information.
