Turns out having access to all the world's knowledge in the palm of your hand doesn't make a difference if people can't tell the truth from fabrications.
I don't think this is true. Yes, the information is technically available, but it takes a relatively significant amount of education and contextual knowledge to confidently access (without falling into a misinformation trap.)
To someone who knows nothing about information systems, it's like being in a giant library that has every book in the world, but none of them have titles nor are organized, while you aren't even that good at reading to begin with.
