Tomorrowland really messed up a lot at Disney. If I remember right the backlash from Disney losing a lot from that movie caused them to cutback investment into Tron. It's a pity, post Legacy I felt there was a lot of potential in the Tron IP. Uprising was surprisingly good. Disney finds way to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory with basically all their IP right now.
It's a shame that Tron wasn't turned into a huge franchise with stuff like videogames and multiple spinoff films/shows. I kept thinking about that as I watched the show Pantheon recently, because a lot of that felt like it could've meshed perfectly with the whole "Grid programs escaping into the real world" plotline.
But man oh man, I would play the hell out of a good Tron game with disc battles and lightcycles and flying around in a giant staple shaped ship... soooooo much potential in a digital world.
They were kind of going that way, around the time of Legacy they had a Disney XD show Tron Uprising, followed by a game with an interconnected timeline, but they canceled the show and pulled back funding into it.

Sad, but understandable from Bruce.
