Events WECDSB is corrupt, and you should be worried
I have worked at WECDSB for 10+ years in mental health and I am at my wits end. For any of you with children in that system; I am sorry. In the past four years, I have witnessed this board go down the drain in terms of morals, finances and student treatment. I should not be writing this, but I have reached a tipping point in what is morally acceptable to not talk about.
Here are a few examples and reasons you should probably pull your kid from the board:
If your child has mental health issues; good luck. Anything disclosed to the board is no longer confidential. What do I mean? If a family seeks out help from a board therapist, the notes taken by the therapist can be disclosed to any management within the board. This goes against every form of confidentiality rights.
Nepotism. In the past three years, multiple people have been hired within the mental health department that have no qualifications for mental health care for children, but they DO have relationships with management. This has led to an extreme decrease in the quality of mental health treatment of students. Certain crises have come up recently that have been shoved under the rug only to then come up in the worst possible way for fellow students.
Hostile work environment. In the past three years, I have seen four higher ranking and highly qualified psychologists, EAs and psychotherapists quit because they spoke up about the treatment of students. We are being scared into line.
Greed. Upper management have all been given a 40k+ salary raise this year, while claiming they have no money for more EAs or more qualified psychotherapists. It is horrifying to see the effect this has had on some of the higher need students.
Full on discrimination. In recent years, the amount of Arabic, Black and LGBTQ+ staff who have been forced out to make room for white women is sickening. I am not the only one who has noticed, but no one in upper management cares.
TL;DR: if you have noticed a significant decrease in care for your student from this board, you aren’t insane. There have been multiple policies in the past few years that have directly caused this. It is a toxic, abusive and awful work environment that has sadly trickled down to the students. I am sorry, and I am going to quit soon.
Sorry for the rant, but I cannot hold this in any longer, and any local newspapers refuse to touch on this.
PS: I cannot, and will not, name names in this post due to the rules about witch hunting. I do not encourage anyone to take this matter into their own hands. What I do encourage, however, is research into what board would be the best for your kid because, and I can assure you, it isn’t this one anymore.

Events It's election day please go out and vote.
Hello Windsor, I want our voices heard even if it's a rejection of the candidates (by going in and having it marked as declined). Personally especially being here in Windsor I'm a bit worried about the future, between Trump threatening Tariffs, our healthcare and education being underfunded and constantly attacked by people wanting to privatize it, housing being horrifically expensive and the disastrous idea of building a multi billion dollar tunnel under the 401at our expense.
In my opinion I think it's going to make life more difficult if Ford gets another term in office, and it's embarrassing given he has ran from a lot of his responsibilities as well as this being the 3rd time he's ran with no real platform. Probably because "more money for my rich friends" isn't a good campaign slogan. I know it's a bit taboo to suggest how to vote even if it's against someone, but he should be held accountable for the choices he has made since replacing Wynne. I know that name invokes a lot of hate and mistrust and rightfully so, but are we better under Ford?
Its a good idea to familiarize yourself with each party's platforms and figure out what's best for you. What helps you and your families lives get better. so please don't allow your apathy to stop you and get out to vote today.

Events Hi r/WindsorOntario, I'm the artist behind The Lost Sheep Art Series! Please join me today in an AMA!
Hello r/WindsorOntario! I'm Kate Lamoure, the artist behind the Lost Sheep Art Series! I'll be answering questions related to the story of the lost sheep art today while I'm here at ArtSpeak Gallery. The show is on today, tomorrow, and Saturday, 11am to 7pm each day, with a reception 6-9pm on Friday evening. Please come on out to experience the works before the gallery wraps up!
I'd love to answer your questions about my summer adventures in painting, art techniques, or share the stories of the meanings behind the paintings. I'd also love to open the forum for you to share about what the series has meant to you. Ask me anything!

Events What the hell is going on...
Dec. Someone climbed through my window and took my car keys and then stoled my car. Not even 2 weeks later, driving my rental, waiting to turn onto George from techumseh... 2 guys in a stolen minivan hit me head on and flee the scene! Now I have two vehicle claims in less then 2 weeks, and I have done nothing wrong

Events How are the clubs?
I am planning on going to Windsor for my bachelor party, we’ll be 19-30 in ages and all ready to party, gamble, and have a good time. What should I expect? Are the prices expensive for drinks? Do the clubs charge to get in? I’ve been to Vegas and Miami, I’m assuming the prices are not near the same to those 2 cities. Just want to know what to expect?

Events Wedding on a super budget
I have $1,500 to play with and I neeeeed suggestions and advice 😭🤣
50-70 people. June wedding.
I’m thinking buffet pasta three ways, salad and garlic bread.
My main question is where are the most scenic free or almost free venues that allow out door food and beverages.
I’ll be calling Malden park visitors centre, Mackenzie hall (gazebo), Jackson park, maybe riverfront?? Like I have no idea and need everyone’s experiences 🤣

Events Good Fellas
This is for the newcomers to the area... the folks on street corners holding up newspapers are collecting for a great cause that supports Windsor Essex... please stop and give them what you can. Just put the paper in your car window until closer to Christmas. Please be patient, dont honk because a car stopped to donate. And this is also to the ignorant prick who laid on his horn because I was getting a Poppy near Remembrance Day from a cadet in a Timmies Drive Thru.
