Chemistry is just alchemy with non-magical substances.

All science is just magic that is understood.

A pharmacist that makes penicillin is just an advanced apothecary who makes a healing potion from fungi.

An electrician is an artificer that channels electricity to cast the Light cantrip on objects at the flip of a switch.

Heck, even a chef is just a pyromancer that can transmute flavors with heat.

You’re probably a cool dude a real magus that understand what OMNISCIENCE means

u/Sockoflegend Necromancer 2d ago

So you are saying I am not a necromancer but a death scientist?

You're pathologist

Now every day I will have to live with the horror that if my power got into the wrong hands, it could be used to save peoples lives

Alchemy is just advanced chimestry but with more occult

Yes and that is rather very mutual of you.

Nah, no occult, mystic and religious bullshit in our pure Enlightenment Science!

I shall remember that when I read the operatives dossier because in interesting times like these it doesn’t help to unify against the Nephandi because they’re the actual problem ripping holes in the in fabric of reality… also didn’t some void engineers fix something without being able to explain…. yet?

We once had to get rid of one such entropy agent who worked for us 20 years. He had close ties to Pentex, to whom he sent data on us. Nephandi are really much more serious threat than we would like to think.

also didn’t some void engineers fix something without being able to explain…. yet?

Not sure, but I think I know who you talking about. Just recently learned about the existence of some evil clones that emotionally affect our organization. I still have little information about them, so at the moment I am trying to get one of these specimens for further study.

Between you and me I don’t plan on any double agent dummy stuff I’m more of a deal with the shared enemy and go back to Cold War style stuff…. largely because the whole paradox backlash of either of our styles going out the window will probably be infinitely times worse than having a YEREN and a bunch of loser princes of the apocalypse in charge.

I think we can work together. We will equip you with all the wonders of hypertechnology, which will be an excellent addition to your deviant practices. And in exchange, you will show us your magical machines. Perhaps we will even take them and add into our scientific paradigm.

Hermetic Order of Reason for the win!!! I just need to hit up House Golo so we can get a rough draft but straight up fuck the Wyrm Howlers. You guys see any doggies with weird ass spiral markings HSKIN or whatever the acronym is for those Nephandi those RDs are unmutual to the extreme. Literally we don’t leave holes in the infinite tapestry they literally do which means yeah we’re cool. Also straight up don’t target any Garou nodes unless they’re underground the good wolves are vital for the planet the others… not so much.

I will contact my people from the Progenitors, who have contacts with the therianthropic entities calling themselves Glass Gnawers. The followers of Stasis are the only ones willing to communicate with us. Meanwhile, the Hemophages will deal with the issues of maintaining the status quo. Their obsession with "masquerade" is very useful in places where we have no control.

As for you, you can try to find these whimsical creatures as an additional combat unit. It is time for Dynamics and Stasis to join forces against the destructive forces of Entropy.

Alchemy is still plenty fun, if you know what you're doing. And if you don't, you've just blown yourself up, congratulations.

Sigurd has a conspicuous lack of eyebrows today.

Chemists be like ‘oh no I added too many moles or something so this isn’t going to be safe for consumption and I have to throw it out and use lots of soap!’

My brother in the arcane, nothing in my cauldron is safe for consumption and it hasn’t been cleaned since the great flood. If it kills you instead of making you stronger, you just didn’t have what it takes to drink good potion 🧪

Alchemy and chemistry rely on one another to obtain full understanding of the universe

9/10 licensed scholars disagree.

7

u/Loner-Penguin 2d ago

Not to sound dumb but I thought alchemy was biology and chemistry in one ? Along with some form of physics ?

6

u/internetfriends4evar 2d ago

The way I understand, alchemy is the root of human interpretation of all physical interactions. An attempt to explain how the world works beyond what is visible to the naked eye. It was later due to overwhelming amount of information that it was split into branches like physics, chemistry, biology. With time, alchemy became the lesser known branch, seemingly abandoned, carried only by the minority that swear on the inseparable nature of all interactions.

Isaac Newton was big into alchemy

It is very impressive how much some people were able to figure out with so little at their disposal. Imagine they had a programmable computer, like we do... Aaand now I am depressed.

Everybody gangsta till you make jungle juice in a giant cauldron.

Wizardposting aside, Understanding Alchemy is importyant to understand how we came to the idea of chemistry, and dabbling with it is a way to see if there are new unexplored ideas we have missed.

u/BigSeaworthiness725 🦾Iterator from Technocratic Union⚙️ 2d ago

Conventional chemistry is just human science accepted by general consensus. What you call "Alchemy" is advanced versions of chemistry, metallurgy and other things, only seasoned with a bit of prejudicial mysticism.

In other words, you just warp reality, trying to make some strange potion with random effect.

Chemistry is to alchemy what biochemistry is to chemistry
