Alchemy is still plenty fun, if you know what you're doing. And if you don't, you've just blown yourself up, congratulations.
Sigurd has a conspicuous lack of eyebrows today.

Chemists be like ‘oh no I added too many moles or something so this isn’t going to be safe for consumption and I have to throw it out and use lots of soap!’
My brother in the arcane, nothing in my cauldron is safe for consumption and it hasn’t been cleaned since the great flood. If it kills you instead of making you stronger, you just didn’t have what it takes to drink good potion 🧪

Alchemy and chemistry rely on one another to obtain full understanding of the universe

Not to sound dumb but I thought alchemy was biology and chemistry in one ? Along with some form of physics ?

The way I understand, alchemy is the root of human interpretation of all physical interactions. An attempt to explain how the world works beyond what is visible to the naked eye. It was later due to overwhelming amount of information that it was split into branches like physics, chemistry, biology. With time, alchemy became the lesser known branch, seemingly abandoned, carried only by the minority that swear on the inseparable nature of all interactions.

It is very impressive how much some people were able to figure out with so little at their disposal. Imagine they had a programmable computer, like we do... Aaand now I am depressed.

Wizardposting aside, Understanding Alchemy is importyant to understand how we came to the idea of chemistry, and dabbling with it is a way to see if there are new unexplored ideas we have missed.

Conventional chemistry is just human science accepted by general consensus. What you call "Alchemy" is advanced versions of chemistry, metallurgy and other things, only seasoned with a bit of prejudicial mysticism.
In other words, you just warp reality, trying to make some strange potion with random effect.

Chemistry is to alchemy what biochemistry is to chemistry

Chemistry is just alchemy with non-magical substances.
