I think Borba was originally going to kill Judy off, but due to the backlash he got from it, he then decided to make her live in a stupid way. Also, when Judy first got shot, the “blood” splattered all over the screen. That would not be possible if she was shot with jam

I think it was an after thought. Since at first they were gonna kill her off, they didnt expect to have to add the ending till the backlash.
