DaVinci Resolve 20 Public Beta 1 has been released!
You can download the update from the support page or by going to DaVinci Resolve>Check for Updates. Note: You must have "Automatically Opt-In for New Beta Program Notifications" checked in System Preferences>System>General to get beta updates from DaVinci Resolve>Check for Updates.
For DaVinci Resolve 20, BMD has taken efforts to keep the project libraries compatible with DaVinci Resolve 19.1. While this allows you to access the project library with 19.1, individual projects created or opened in 19.0 will no longer be accessible in 19.1.
BMD recommends a full project library backup as well as individual project backups before opening projects in 20.0.
Beta Bug Reports need to be submitted to Blackmagic Design. You can post them on the official 19 public beta subforum.
Feature Requests need to be submitted to Blackmagic Design. You can post them on the official Feature Request Subforum or in the download form for Resolve.

* - Still In Progress
** - Studio Only
+ - Additional fees, licensing, and/or hardware required.
++ - The Scripting API is available in the console on the free version, but external access requires the Studio version.
Peter Chamberlain has confirmed this was an intentional choice. Most affected scripts are listed in this thread. If you need them, we recommend sticking with the free version of 19.0.3 or earlier; or buying Studio before upgrading.
While there is a note about support for Blackwell GPUs, this is still a beta release and may still be buggy.

Hello r/davinciresolve! Here's this month's Hardware Thread! In the interest of consolidating hardware questions, we've introduced monthly threads dedicated exclusively to hardware. u/whyareyouemailingme has finally given in and started scheduling these threads.
This is the thread to ask if your computer meets the minimum requirements, ask what part to upgrade, and other general hardware questions. Future FAQ Fridays may still cover hardware & peripherals, depending on how frequently questions get asked.
In addition to subreddit rules, there is one additional thread guideline we're introducing:
Minimum system requirements for macOS
Minimum system requirements for Windows
Minimum system requirements for Windows for Arm
Minimum system requirements for Linux
Minimum system requirements for iPadOS
*Rocky is the current film and television industry standard distro for numerous VFX/color correction programs. Resolve may run on other distros but is only officially supported on and Rocky.
**Mod Note: This must be the proprietary driver; open-source drivers may cause issues.
The Resolve Host (Sending Video) must have the following hardware and software requirements for DaVinci Remote Monitor:
The Resolve Client (Receiving Video) must have the following hardware and software requirements for DaVinci Remote Monitor:
Is there/will there be an Android version?
This is speculation, but it's likely that what makes the iPad version possible is the Apple Silicon architecture and the pre-existing OS similarities to macOS. It seems unlikely that BMD would offer Android support in the near future, and it may have similar codec licensing limitations to the Linux version - no H.26x support without the Studio version, and no AAC audio.
There is also too much variability for Android tablets for accurate remote monitoring. No other comparable solution (ClearView, Streambox, etc.) offers an Android solution.
Can I use Integrated Graphics on Linux if I don't have an NVIDIA or AMD GPU?
Nope, and BMD has no plans to support them.
How do I know if my GPU supports CUDA 12
You can visit the Wikipedia page for CUDA, find the specific CUDA version you need and the corresponding compute capability, then find your GPU. CUDA 11 requires a compute capability of 5.0-9.0.
How low can my system specs go compared to these?
A while back, we did a series of FAQ Fridays on different levels of hardware setups. For the subreddit's bare minimum recommendations, check out the Consumer Hardware Setup FAQ Friday.
How much is a Speed Editor/Is it a good deal to get the Speed Editor/License combo?
Back in October 2021, Blackmagic Design announced that the Speed Editor's introductory bundle with a Studio license for $295 was being discontinued. The MSRP for a Speed Editor is now $395, and it still comes with a Studio license. Some retailers may have the introductory bundle in stock, but it's not a guarantee. More information about the price changes for the Speed Editor and other panels can be found in this press release from BMD.
Why am I not seeing picture when I import media (NOT MEDIA OFFLINE)?
Some remote softwares or GPUs have "fake" virtual display drivers that can cause issues with Resolve not displaying media or generators. More details and a solution from Dwaine can be found on the forums at this link.

I only need resolve on one computer at the time... but I often reinstall windows on various machines and when I travel, I don't always have the same machine... This means I used multiple activation rather quickly. What happens after this last activation? I'm still a single artist using the software on one computer at the time. Would the next install override the oldest one (which is most likely on a windows install that no longer exists...)

Helloo! I'm a broke college student, not tech-savvy, and I want some help from you guys.
My PC is just limited in terms of specs, but I'm still wondering if I can work around it.
My goals in editing are not hardcore because I will be an assistant editor to my friend. I will just gather raw cuts, put them together, and mix the audio with it smoothly so I can pass it forward to them afterward for the main editing.
SPECS: Windows 11
Processor - AMD Ryzen 3 7320U with Radeon Graphics 2.40 GHz (2401 Mhz, Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Installed RAM - 8.00 GB (7.24 GB usable)
System type - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
(If not feasible, can you guys recommend free lighter apps that my PC could handle? Thank youuu! <3)

So Im trying to render out a fusion composition that I am using as the intro credits to a mini movie I made for a class yet it always crashes in the exact same part when rendering. The footage for the actual movie is just iphone footage so Its not very hard to render. My fusion comp is a little complicated but I honestly think it shouldnt have too much of a problem to render. Im on davinci resolve 19 studio.
Here is the fusion composition that its crashing on. Im on a M4 Pro Mac mini with 24 gb of ram.

Hey everyone!
New to DaVinci here, but I've been editing for 6 years using the Adobe Suite. One of the things that saves me a TON of time on After Effects making animations is this neat little plugin called Flow.
The gist of it is it makes graph "presets" that you can save and just apply to your graphs in one click later, and it saves so much time working with graphs/splines. I want to know if something similar exists for Resolve/Fusion?
If not, can someone please make one, I'd pay good money for it 😭

I can get the normal adjustments for my clips to appear but I am unable to show the keyframes for my transform effect.
Am I missing something?

So I got 2000 frames rendered as PNG. How does one approach editing it? Because DaVinci is not good enough with playing back sequences, do you export it as a video first and then edit this video? If so, what codec do you guys use to preserve the quality?

Hi so just curious if anyone here had any advice for the following:
I'm colour correcting + grading a project (also I am a noob). 2 different cameras were used on differing days of shooting.
Camera 1: Lumix s1h
Camera 2: Black Magic 6k
Now, Davinci can handle Cam2's footage just fine and identified it as Black Magic RAW files - so automatic Colour Space detected. However Cam1 is where the problem is at.
I was given the files for Cam1 in .mov - Quicktime Video Files. I use Windows and am currently using Davinci Resolve 20 BETA (free version, not studio). Thus, Davinci on my PC wasn't able to handle any .mov files, only importing them as audio files. I tried different trouble shooting methods but resolved to converting all the files through Handbrake using THIS method with the Production Max preset.
So where I'm at is that the Cam1 footage is now readable on Davinci Resolve, but it's not its original file - and it has that flat RAW look to it, while the Cam2 footage has been interpreted just fine. I went to > Input Colour Space to manually add Lumix, but found there isn't a Lumix Colour Space.
I'm not sure how to proceed. I still have all the original files from Cam1 pre-conversion. Is there a way to input Colour Space for Lumix s1h? Or should I convert the videos again with an alternate method? Or should I just colour correct all the Lumix footage to try to match with the Black Magic cam as much as possible.
Any thoughts are much appreciated, thanks~!
UPDATE; I've input Cam1 footage to have the same colour space as Cam2. Also tried Input Colour Space > Same as Timeline which also looks nice. Is this something I should just judge by eye?

How can I make a tracking like this but in fusion?
That's a video of me playing and I did manually, but I've tried several times in fusion and I don't know how can I do this "automatically" using the tracker, and how to make this tight too.

I want to insert an audio clip within the area marked with a red underline. Usually, I throw it to the side and use the blade edit tool to sneak it in and manually extend it.
Is it possible to directly insert the clip from the media pool, without overwriting what's after it, or do I have to manually do it every time?

I went back to a project of mine from a few weeks ago (haven't made any changes to hardware or software, everything is basically the same state as it was when I edited it initially) and suddenly DaVinci is stuttering trying to play anything and my HDD activity is maxed at 100% the whole time the software's open.
While I was editing it initially I had no problems, maybe the odd hiccup when dropping in a new clip, but nothing that would cause freezing.
Now I can't open and work on that project anymore, which luckily I've already exported and can make edits on the exported copy if I need to, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me diagnose the issue?
I'm on Win10, DaVinci Resolve v19.1.2 build 3, the video clips are ~14.1GB across three clips (~21 minutes of 4K video) and audio is a single 28MB wav file, and they're all held on a tertiary drive.

I come from using CapCut and iMovie, and both softwares had two timecodes; one to show where my cursor currently is, and one to show how long my project. I use the second timecode to gauge how much more editing I need to do on a project. I've checked the manual, I've tried to Google it (but it doesn't really know what I'm talking about), I've checked this sub's Wiki and no luck.
It used to do it when I first loaded my project into Davinci Resolve, but it doesn't anymore.

I'm currently trying to export out a 4K video from a timeline that is set to 4K and filled with footage that was shot in 4K. The original project timeline was 1080p, and I made a duplicate of that timeline and ensured that ALL SETTINGs were set to 4K. Yet despite all this, whenever I go to export out the video I am hit with this message:
"The selected render resolution is higher than the timeline resolution. Rendered images will be upscaled from timeline resolution to the selected resolution. This may result in reduced image quality."
I asked ChatGPT how to resolve this issue and it gave me the following steps to try and troubleshoot the issue:
"1. Double-check Timeline Resolution
Go to Project Settings (bottom-right gear icon) → Master Settings → Timeline Resolution and ensure it's set to 3840x2160 (UHD) or 4096x2160 (DCI 4K).
Sometimes, Resolve has trouble rendering 4K H.264/H.265 directly. Try exporting as ProRes (Mac) or DNxHR HQ (Windows) first, then convert to H.264/MP4 in another program like HandBrake.
After making changes, restart Resolve to apply them fully."
I followed all of these steps (except #6) to a "T" and am STILL getting hit with the same dumb error message. Has anyone here ever experienced and resolved this issue before?

PC Specs: 64 GB RAM, GeForce 3070 Ti, AMD Ryzen 5000
Davinci Resolve version: 19, Free
I've been wanting to practice some stuff for a fan film project I've had in mind using this tutorial
On the video, the guy is shown to be expanding or shrinking the polygon mask with a slider, which shows an immediate response on the viewport. However, mine doesn't do that and instead I have to switch to the edit tab to see the changes made. I think in simplest terms, I'm just not getting any playback. can someone help me?
